I'm on PS3 and I didn't have any problems with that jump. There were a few other ones I found pretty miserable though. For me, the hardest was the spot in West La Noscea where you have to jump on top of the spike sticking up out of the tent. I probably spent 4 real life hours trying to get to it. Kind of sad but that Apkallu is so cute, worth every minute

Yeah, that was one deadly hard also, spend so much time trying hit (and failed first time I tried with the good weaher)
Also, the one from South sroud when you need rain I think, failed also first try.

But I think the seighseeing log is ok like this, would be boring if it was easy and if we where reaching every spot the first try.
The only thing I could complain is, about the reward, a pet is a little low for the work it is, I wish there is 2 rewards, a pet for 40 first, and a mount or something for the 40 last.

Little Apkallu really worth the effort.Damn thing is so cute ! Even this little green penguin can't ride on our shoulder but its totally ok.Did you guys try to go near other player with apkallu minion as well yet ? The 2 penguins will start to talk to each other instead of running around looking for food like they suppose to do .. Normally it won't stay still though ...

Nr. 48 is in fact the only one I did not complete on my own but cheated a bit lol. I was there with another player and he managed to get up before me. I died intentionally and was revived from the other player on top of it so I was warped close to him and could finish it. So if you ever see somebody up there, ask him if he can revive you as well if you face problems doing it on your own.

I have tried it quite often, spending several hours with it without making it up for a single time. Always a little bit missing...

I also heard some players used their PC and limited the frame rate to 30 FPS to be able to do the jump. No clue if this really helps and it wouldn’t surely help me on a PS4. But the frame rate shouldn’t be a success factor anyways.

When I think about the Sightseeing logs, I will always remember this Jump and another one in Northern Thanalan where I was also close to throw my Gamepad into the TV screen lol. A tricky jump while you CONSTANTLY have 1-2 mobs on your back with random agro. YUCK, hated it. And it didn’t feel like a relief but more like a stress factor at some stage because I just wanted to get it done after trying it a few times.

But all in all, I had Fun doing it and I hope SE releases more of it. Maybe without such tricky Jumps because I think finding the spot at all and having the correct Weather is already time demanding enough for something that is meant to do casually and in between.

Oh and Yes, the Apkallu is really sweet and a nice reward not everybody has. I almost always use it as my companion since I have it.

Hmm, after reading all your comments I was a bit afraid to do this log entry but it turns out it was super easy.
You have to be standing on the highest horizontal log that is in the pile on either side of the one that you need to get up to. Mount your chocobo and then run towards the vertical one and jump. well run a bit along the horizontal one and when you jump steer towards the vertical one. Did it 2 times in a row on PC but with PS3 controller.

It is easier than I thought it would be.

Apologies for necroing this thread, but I simply had to state my profuse appreciation for the advice here. I've spent far too many hours trying to get this log, looking up video guides, etc. when the answer was as simple as "limit your framerate". The moment I did I got up there. After getting the entry, I did it 3 more times in a row. Prior to that I got up there twice and overshot both times. Thank you so much!

It makes me wonder if I should be playing with limited frame rate all the time...

did the jump 5 times just for fun while waiting for something. and i used the big 2 person chocobo to help a friend reaching the spot xD it's a difficult jump, i would say the most difficult of all, but far from impossible.

but it will take a while so make sure you look after the weather early, so you have around an hour for jumping
