I have to ask, is Dissipation actually a useful skill? Because in all the time I have actually had it, the only times I've actually used it is when I hit it by accident. I don't know, it just seems like sacrificing your fairy for 3 aetherflow stacks and the increased healing potency, which you now have to use MP for, isn't exactly worth it. Then again, personally, I'm not in the habit of spamming Lustrates for clutch heals as SCH.

I only use it when I'm low on MP, or am setting up a hyper-Adloq with Fey Illumination + Dissipation. If you take Summon into account, it's a gain of 884 MP if you use all the extra stacks on Energy Drain.I have to ask, is Dissipation actually a useful skill? ♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
Fresh out from a Cutter's Cry run and in need of a rant!
Spamming Cutter's Cry at the moment to level up my PLD. Most runs have gone well but this was by far the worst.
None of the players knew any of the strats despite only one of them being new to the dungeon - in fact, the new player was the only one who picked up what to do by following what I was doing. The one DPS (level 60 MNK) kept standing right in the middle during the sandworm fight and took damage every time it burrowed underground (not to mention he kept standing inside trash mob AOEs, no idea if he was lagging or what but never said a word about it). The final boss fight, nobody was following the eye colour and just stood where they were. Healer and MNK both died, and although the new player kept raising the healer she would die again to the eye colour strat. Was just me and the new DPS for 60/70% of the fight to the point where I ran out of TP.
Worst thing? Not a single player comm. I'd kept aggro almost the whole time (did have one or two little slip ups on trash mobs but pulled them back easily) and was the only person who knew strats. Annoyed the hell out of me lmao.
That's pretty much the only use I ever had for Dissipation. I tried that combo exactly once, at Diabolos Hollow's spawn, then decided it was too much work and stuck to regular Adlo deployment. As for MP issues, I don't know, I've only ever had MP issues under special circumstances, like just after dying, or if people are dropping like flies. Dissipation just seems like a really situational skill, which is annoying considering that WHM and AST's level 60 skills are useful in far more situations.
I am always at like half MP due to raising people in raids, or due to DPSing in other content. Sometimes I just really need to spend my current AF stacks on energy drain, then if I send my fairy away I get instant crazy heals for clutch situations. Sometimes people simply do something stupid that you are not prepared for, and then it is relevant to use it.That's pretty much the only use I ever had for Dissipation. Yeah, people need to know, taking a 10% damage penalty for a few seconds to restore your healers' MP is better than freaking wiping outright.
I swear, practicality is lost on the vast majority of players these days.
(The damage penalty shouldn't be anything to us anyway unless we're singing that for like a minute, and even then if such a situation happens, we have far worse problems with the entire alliance in general than a 10% reduction in damage anyway.)
There is a few things that makes me want to quit and be penalized meanwhile I run a dungeon ;
1)Healers that doesn't help with DPS (Specially SCH ) : Why people play like this? SCH is the easiest healer in the game. I mean C'mon even your pet does everything.
2) DPS that never uses Limit Break or doesn't know how to manage properly.
3) Summoners only using BIO - RUIN II on llevel 60 ; I have no words for this.
All 3 of those make the run still last shorter than the 30 minute penalty you would get for leaving. Unless you have some elitist pride I say you should deal with itThere is a few things that makes me want to quit and be penalized meanwhile I run a dungeon ;
