You have to be joking. There is so much lag that ensuring an action goes off relies on an immense amount of button spamming, particularly now that there is no action queuing.
FFXIV combat is atrocious. It's downright horrible. It's slow. You generally sit there for 5-10 seconds doing nothing while you wait for your TP bar to fill, and having that time double if you miss. Actions take a huge amount of time to go off (2-3 seconds after the button press). Animation lock is a terrible concept, particularly when things like crit animations take twice as long to play.
Defending the current system for whatever reason is just ridiculous.
People claiming XIV's combat system is lag free are just deluded. They have no clue what actual lag-free (or as close to possible) combat is. Having to even "sometimes" hit a button twice for it to register is a HUGE red flag that the combat system is horrible. You have to be joking. I don't know what classes you play but I never have said problems. On top of that the wait is way less when compared to having to wait for 100% TP in FFXI. The current system does has a few flaws but nothing game breaking. As a Lancer you should never have to wait long for you attacks especially with Speed Surge up.You have to be joking. By the way lag comes from the server side problems that is well known in the game right now and is going to be fixed. The problems doesn't come from the combat system, if you knew anything or had a lick of common sense you would understand that much.

Did I say it came from the combat system? No. I said there is lag when it comes to combat. Learn to read.
The point that it comes from the servers is proof that EVERYONE has it, so these people stating that they don't are either lying or have no clue what we're even referring to.
You said that the combat system is horrible because of the lag more or less. So that could be easily misunderstood to what you was actually trying to say. I experience the lag sometimes and then other times it is completely lag free and it could be partially due to my isp and the fact that I play wireless.Did I say it came from the combat system? I will offer you the same advice as I offer all who just complain like you do. Quit the game and try again once the real final product is released. Don't get on the forums and complain about it because it makes you look like the rest of the trolls out there who come December will have their forum privileges revoked. I understand your opinion but you haven't left it at simply stating an opinion and you have went into a cacophony of whining and moaning and calling the game garbage. The players know already that the game they are playing is still semi broken and FFXIV 2.0 is the fix, it's a year away so take it or leave it.Just because you have "less wait than XI" doesn't make it reasonable in this day and age. Maybe there are people who, like yourself, enjoy the completely passive mode of playing where you sit there and wait 5-10 seconds to do anything. (and that wait is pretty inarguable when it takes an action 1 to 2 seconds to register and an additional 3 seconds for the animation to play).
The current combat system is horrible. Does it function? Yes. Is it game breaking? That depends on your description of game breaking. Clearly for you anything that "functions" is ok as long as it has the FF label on it. But in a world of modern games and MMOs, many people want something that is both more fluid and more engaging. That is what FFXIV needs to succeed.
Sitting around waiting for attacks to register, waiting for animations to finish playing, and waiting for your very slow auto attacks to play is beyond tedious when it comes to combat. That, tacked onto the horrible, horrible targeting system makes for completely broken, even if functional, combat.
And the comment about speed surge II is cute. Yes, go from waiting 3.7 seconds between auto attacks to 3.4 seconds! What a sea change in speed! Only needing 3 attacks to fill up the TP gauge is still over 12 seconds. Even throwing Ferocity, Raging or MI in there still makes for incredibly, incredibly slow game play.

Telling people to quit, instead of giving feedback (Read: complaining) makes you the only troll here. Perhaps you should take an ounce of your own advice instead of being a sycophanic yes man.I will offer you the same advice as I offer all who just complain like you do. In fact, you were the first one to even make it personal by accusing another of not having half of a brain. If the forums are truly limited to people such as yourself who are espousing that combat is "fine" as it is, the final product of 2.0 won't be worth playing to anyone.
This is why you don't run off at the mouth and accuse someone of having no common sense when you aren't 100% what they meant. Seems to be a popular trend here amongst several posters, though. You said that the combat system is horrible because of the lag more or less. The combat system on its own is slow and unresponsive. The server lag, which everybody experiences and there is absolutely no connection in the world will fix (besides possibly a lan connection at SE), make it even worse. Thus these people I was talking about saying they don't have lag or combat is 100% fluid are completely lying, deluded, or have no clue what actual fluid combat is.

I didn't run off at the mouth before I knew what you meant. I was sure what you meant but you failed into wording in properly and I recede my comment. To Hachiko, I am not being a yes man because I genuinely like the game and understand it is currently flawed and I am not the one calling it a crappy game. If you act like a troll and talk like a troll then it must be a troll is the idea of calling you out. You may not be a troll but you sure been acting like one. Also I didn't make it personal I was simply stating a fact that if you don't understand the simple mechanics of the game then you must have no common sense. This is why you don't run off at the mouth and accuse someone of having no common sense when you aren't 100% what they meant. Why should people have to quit, is the game not going P2P in a month or so ? that means the game is pretty much, up to standards right ? wich means any valid complain, concern should be looked into :/You said that the combat system is horrible because of the lag more or less. Oh and simply saying "GTFO" is the most trollish thing to say :/
