what really bothers me is that the skill seems to "jump" from person to person, creating time delay. the only skill currently doing this is protect, which is a buff applied before the fight (unless reapplying on rezz'ed ppl) and thus not time-important. but if this were to be a heal skill, the time delay from activation until the last person is hit by it could be fatal.
due to this, i don't think it is a healing skill. most likely some kind of buff, maybe even one normally applied before a fight like protect.
we will see... lets hope for the best, WHM needs something big
I agree it looks like a buff, but I really hope it's not one that's applied pre-fight. That's not very interesting for WHM to get. Maybe it applies to all party members at once and it's just the animation that takes time?
It could be a magic defense up buff, like our previous Proshell trait but as a cooldown or spell? That might be interesting. Another possibility, which I think would be awesome but I don't think is as likely, would be a shield similar in behavior to Stoneskin but protects health equal to total MP similar to Assize.
What about :
Cast a buff on the player, each time he successfully block/parry a frontal attack, unleash a small version of Holy
That would be fun and burn some tank's eyes![]()
this favors a WAR/WHM combo a bit too much, since WAR has a 100% parry cooldown wich lasts for 20 seconds :x

+1 on the AoE tetragramaton theory. It looks so much like it, imo.
But I sure hope I'm wrong. An insta Cure III won't help WHM to stand up in the DPS/utility meta. People will still rather have an AST with their new Roegadyn card.
I think the tether of the fairy is some kind of <heal only this guy>
Usually the fairy heals the person with lowest HP, then I guess this is a way to make the fairy focus the healing on the tank and you heal the party with AoEs as you need it. Maybe the skill comes with a boost on the fairy, or maybe it's permanent until cancelled...

I've been studying the effect side-by-side with Tetra from the class abilities feature before HW was released, and the more I look at it, the more I'm convinced that's what it is. Also, I agree with you - WHM really needs something other than more healing to set itself apart. We should remember though that they are only showing a few abilities here, and hopefully saving the really good stuff for future spoilers. One can hope...
The tether is a new kind of heal, I guess.
As we can see in other games, like Dota, a skill named Life Drain, use a transfer of life between two characters.
Fairy life --> teamate life.
The particularity is you see the numbers change every 0.1 sec (it's not a HoT which act every 3 sec).
It's a channeling spell (For our fairy, she will not be able to do anything else unless we cancel this link). I think we are moving towards this type of skill.
Otherwise, it could be like Io, a tether which buff the allied target (attack speed up, for example).
