SE needs to show DoL ALOT more love in 4.0

Having read the latest live letter it does not appear they have any plans at all for dol.
Seems like they have given up, it is a shame as i used to love miner and botany it relaxed me. HW it has just been very tedious and come SB it will be the same.

Underwater nodes, and spearfishing, do not sound to me like "no plans at all".

Rather they sound to me like "no plans for any real change to mining/botany, and adding spearfishing to fishing".

Under water is niche! Not too fancy but different scenery is cool. Spearfishing (I hope) is hugge!! I loved spearfishing bk in 1.x and I like finally having two tools for stats!!!

I hope favors neverrr come bk!!!! But I can't think of a change that I want to see (that's not already planned).

i just want something worth locked behind folklore books / high lvl gear / culinarian desynthesis for my fisher.

i know how to make gil with my fisher, that's not the problem. but all these methods work with white lvl 60 gear without any materia melds and without folklore books and with a desynthesis you can easiliy reach without effort.

i have invested millions of gil and countless hours of playtime to get all that on high level for my fisher - but for what?

when fisher doesn't should have impact on the market, where are the other achievments wich PVE und PVP get? or Gold Saucer suff... Fisher got one Minion in 3.0 wich again can be gathered by anybody with a lvl 60 fisher and it's unsellable, and okay, the glowing rod, but ALL gatherers got glowing tools, while they also have impact on the market, so it doesn't really count as "special fisher reward".

give us something worth to fish for! some high level stuff either for the market or just for personal glamour stuff. and especially do something with the culinarian desynthesis...

The no real changes comment was made because i read from Yoshi himself pretty much stating this..
Botany and Miner has real not had any real changes for sometime, crafters have had more changes.
Obviously some like fishing, myself i find it boring as hell

And we can't get anything similar to btn and miner bc of bots SE has said doe a while now fishing is mostly a glamour class...../cry

But maybe spearfishing will be worth something!!! And to be fair although end game fishing is mostly useless most fishes desyn into materia Vs (at an extremely low rate lulz....but it's something)

One thing that needs to happen is that SE needs to stop adding useless abilities that pile rng on top of rng. Stop trying to fool players into thinking they are getting something good. FSH was blessed by one of the worst skills I've seen, Patience II. 570 GP for something that causes you to lose 75% of the fish you try to hook, along with needing 2 other skills to counter it, using more GP that you have very little of after popping P II. To compare that with MIN, it would be like have King's Yield II get triple the mats, but cause you to fail on the attempt 75% of the time. This kind of crap needs to stop.

Well, we're getting a trait for GP regeneration at level 61+, which is nice. Other than that, I'm kind of thinking the lack of a weekly lockout on yellow scrips could either mean relaxed requirements for endgame gathering, or it'll mean silly amounts of grinding to unlock the starred level 70 nodes.

As for fishing, I would definitely do it a lot if it was more like XV's fishing system. XIV's implementation is too slow and too RNG-reliant.

i would be fine when it was a glamour class. but WHERE IS THE GLAMOUR? square seems not to know what direction they want to go with the fisher...

and bots? laughable! there are hundreds of BTN and MIN bots out there. if botting is the reason then they have to remove anything worthwhile from BTN and MIN too...

think about you geared your crafter for millions to make all the nice new 4star recipes on patch day. but then you realize all the new recipes are just normal lvl 60 stuff, not even 1star. that's exactly what happened with the fisher. can you imagine the outrage?

Other than the tool, my Fisher gets its gear upgrades as a direct benefit to my Miner/Botanist getting gear upgrades. Fishing is almost an afterthought ...
