Been working on making my non-60's an even level, so ended up in Cutter's Cry on some class I forget. We had a hasty tank and a THM who liked rushing ahead, pulling, going the wrong way, all that fun stuff, so I (DPS) was in a sour mood by the time we got to the Tunnel Worm. Fight starts and our poor healer (who I assume didn't have cleric stance, thus was a no-DPS healer by default) was struggling with some of the AoE. While playing catchup, I was sludged by the boss (very long, hurtful, persistant DoT) which reduced the poor thing to spamming Cure inbetween healing the AoE damage (she didn't use Esuna a single time, and I didn't realize until about 50% through the boss HP bar). Rather than comment, I let her heal me through it in the hope that we'd smash the boss and move on. Nope, wipe due to dots ping-ponging all the HP bars and the DPS/Tank eating lots of damage during worm tunnels.

So, we run back, I write that they really need to dispel/Esuna, or people will die. She apologized and we start boss for the third time. Still no Esunas. Once again she heals me through a DoT (it lasts a good 10 seconds'ish). By the time mine faded I was mid-sentence, and the boss throws a DoT on the Healer. "You need to dispel!" I cry (in text). 2 seconds later I hear the Esuna sound on me (I had no DoT). She keeled over and died to hers.

It was a long Cutter's Cry.

So ran Baselars wall yesterday with one of those tanks that does not realize their the ones screwing up. Run starts off with the tank pulling with no Defensive stance up mobs all over and we wipe. Second disaster comes at the second boss, both Dps don't understand don't move or cast during the debuff. Eventually we all wipe cause the tank either died to the debuff or dropped Def stance and got wrecked don't remember which. Ilbred is where everything falls apart, Tank runs in grabs Ilbred no more then 5 seconds later drops Def stance losing aggro a short time later to me.Ilbred hits me for 31k one shotting me and causing a wipe, you think the tank would realize his oops and hold Def stance longer...Nope!! Second try he does it again this time Ilbred runs around smacking everyone tank trying to regain aggro while in OFFESENIVE STANCE!!!. Dps dies to a combo of AOE and Ilbred, tank gains control but I say fuck it and sit down. Did not get a third attempt as they kicked me and thank god they did I was ready to leave. I know I should not have sat down but something told me the tank was not going to stop his non sense.

Next group had a perfectly good tank

I've always been a huge fan of these forums and I still am, especially with some of the crud we have to face as healers... Well this one really topped the icing on the cake for me and this was in Baelsar's Wall with a tank (can't remember their job sorry), dragoon, black mage, and a scholar (me): [My apologies in advance for this loooong rant but it really infuriated me]

A random pug and I enter the usual duty finder and go about our ways, the beginning is a little rough as we slowly trudge through the two big mobs that were pulled together and the Sagittarius-Archers were getting killed last; therefore, multiple Archer dots galore on every player and mad heals/Leeches/Energy Drains ensue(Thank you Fey Caress!!!)! The rest of the adds after this point went smoothly... then comes the first boss.

Oh boy, our damage was quite low here and I'll admit using Selene might have not been the best choice, but it was mostly because the two Sky Armor adds were BARELY touched and continued doing damage constantly throughout the whole fight to BOTH the Dps that were chained to them. Speaking of which, I don't know if it was just me, but I noticed that the longer and longer it took to kill those chaining adds, the more damage it seemed to blast at the Dps after every other tick.. it was horrible. Naturally, after spending all of my utility possible/Rouses while the Dps kept taking mass amounts of damage from being tethered and Magitek Missle adding on top of them, and the tank receiving Magitek Claw tank busters + low DPS, the fight didn't last as both the BLM&DRG were brutally murdered, the tank and I were chained following their deaths and blasted at, and we wipe. Now come the hurtful insults. The BLM tells me that I'm a "Fucking idiot" and should have been using Eos and explains to me that Eos is strictly for healing, well duh. I apologize and say that I overestimated my ability, the situation, and should have alerted the group to take care of the adds from the beginning. The Tank and DRG remain silent, but the BLM tells me that they've done the fight millions of times and "know what they are doing". 2nd time with Eos summoned and the first set of chaining Sky Armor adds were killed, but the second and third took me and the DRG together to knock down the BLM's as they weren't touching them, but we made it.

I bring Selene back into the field after the boss is dead and the DRG berates me, asking if I even know what I'm doing as I seem completely clueless. I explain to them that the conveyor belt set of mobs pose no harm to us whatsoever, as there is no constant party damage going about, and I can safely Dps myself. They still seemed hesitant to pull the lever, so I tell them they can trust me on this; the BLM says "Well we trusted you back there, and look what happened. You got us all killed." Ouch.. We get through all the adds with Selene just fine. I was able to dps the entire time, only stopping to stoneskin+adlo the tank in between each wave. Things were starting to look up

As we walk to the 2nd boss I see my party chat blow up with "EOS! EOS!!!" "Please use her Dear God!!!" and so forth, so I decide to comply despite this fight only being high damage if someone fails to freeze all actions momentarily when Dynamic Sensory Jammer' is being casted (not to mention 'Launcher' is a weak group-wide AoE and can easily be shielded). The fight itself was a bit long again, and the DRG kept moving during Sensory Jammer almost every time getting themselves hurt, but again we get through it and I was able to Dps most of the time between phases and shielding.

I switch back to Selene once more for the final set of mobs before the last boss and both Dps tell me they are very frustrated with me because I refuse to stick with only Eos. I remind them once more that there's nothing to worry about, and we can Caster LB to knock down all the mobs while we AoE the remaining few. They bring up the first boss incident again and tell me I need "to learn how to properly play Scholar". I ignore them as we quickly breezed our way into the final boss. I Can't begin to list all the things I was being called during this pull.

Running up the stairs, the tank immediately pulls the boss before one of the Dps can finish their cutscene (barely made it). Chants of Eos's name rings through the Party chat from the DRG for the third time (not without insults from both Dps course!). This time I decided that I had it with the name-calling, so I tell them straight up that I will stick to Selene because the only time I actually have to shield and heal is during Lionshead, Claw of the Griffin tank buster, or if one of us fumbled and doesn't dodge Sanguine Blade, the fairy can handle rest as we Dps and I love Fey Caress speed buff paired with DRG's Battle Litany. Throughout the entire fight both the DRG and the BLM type-war at me, calling out all sorts of insults as they get stunned by Flashpowder gaze constantly, get hit with EVERY SINGLE Sanguine Blade, AND miserably fail Dps check to kill the middle biggest Blade of the Griffin on time (despite trying to DoT and Broil some), wiping the party.

The insults increase ten-fold at me, ranging from saying I was "the worst fucking scholar they had ever seen" to "Your job is to HEAL not dps stupid ass!!", and that we wiped only because I "didn't bother to be smart enough to bring out Eos". At this point I feel terrible but angry all at once and I lash out, deciding that I will ONLY heal (with Eos) and not dps at all. They say their thanks, calling me a dumbass once more and saying I should stick to just healing and that "maybe this time we'll actually clear."

Lord. Have. MERCY. Standing there only to heal was excruciatingly boring as a Scholar, especially when Eos covers about ALL of it during that fight. Not to mention that if I attempted to Dps they'd "wipe and kick me". Ugh. We get on with the fight and not surprisingly, we wipe again and again and AGAIN. Why? Because I was left there at Restraint Collar. Every. Damn. Time. Only the DRG attempted to get me out of the healer death mechanic (surprisingly), but the BLM continued targeting the boss as Restraint Collar would finish its cast, and kill me... And after the first time I pointed out the BLM's bs and told them if they wanted to finish the fight, they NEED to free me (because by the time I died, the boss would still have over half health left); but alas, I was met with more insults saying I was terrible at my job and someone like me shouldn't be telling them how to do mechanics that they were "very well aware" of. After the third time I apologized to the tank, and left the group.

I feel like all along they were making fun of me and purposefully doing bad JUST because I didn't have Eos out the whole time. If anything, I'm 100% sure that was the case, but it baffles me that there are people out there who actually do this.. I had always been pretty confident in my abilities, and as weird as it sounds this run really did open my eyes to switching fairies in and out more for Heavensward content. I was so used to using Selene for Baelsar's Wall, Sohm Al Hard and other lvl 60s dungeons with groups (not to be cocky) that would hardly ever experience a wipe. Sometimes in newly released dungeons, I'd be hesitant going in blind and use Eos at first, but switch to Selene later. Realm Reborn was pretty different as I would switch less and even use Eos more, but that was before I decided to main Scholar because the rush of stance dancing and healing really made my day. I hope that in my refusal to use Eos the whole time didn't make me seem like an asshole to anybody, and I really did feel bad about wiping at the first boss as it was my mistake, but like I see here time and time again in these forums: I feel like people really can't shoulder the blame entirely on their healers if they fail to do proper mechanics themselves; Period. This would have been different if someone was still learning the ropes of Baelsar's wall and were new, but all four of us had already done it a ton of times :/ Either way, I feel pretty blah.

You were met with two of the most... well, I can't say the word I want to here because forum rules, but idiotic, condescending, clueless DPS I've ever heard about, and you're blaming yourself? The BLM alone sounds like a psychopath.

You should have kept Selene and CS on the entire time and told them to kick you if it was a problem. I certainly wouldn't take job advice from two inept plebs who can't or won't even follow simple dungeon mechanics and blame the healer's fairy when everything goes wrong. The expert dungeons are so simple a sprout could sleep through them. You were trying to use your job to the best of its ability, and they were doing the bare minimum on theirs. Don't blame yourself for an entirely preventable incident they caused.

Do what I do, record every fight. It's easy to play 'couch expert' when ranting at others, not so much when someone can provide visual evidence to the contrary and show them up for being a sack of muppets. I've had my own fair share of rants here in the forums, but in all cases I have videos of everything I've whined or ranted about. Not only can you discredit most of peoples bull 90% of the time, but it's also a good way of checking if there's any actual truth embedded in the flames. Failing that, just some self improvement even if you played fine. It's not easy to monitor yourself in the thick of battle (at least not compared to sitting back and watching yourself do that fight without having to press any buttons).

A lot of tanks make the one big mistake on the first pull of Baelsar's Wall, when they try to go all the way to the door.

Most of the time they forget to run back and get the ranged together, so they lag behind quite a bit and if the tank just stays there at the door area they will just pluck off other party members. DPS get blamed for being "low", mainly because their AoEs won't be hitting them. Believe me, I'm pulling the most damage possible as Bard (Full BiS with Alex Bow), I've popped all my CDs for this pull. So why should we have to peel off the mob to get these strangers that the tank should be getting together. So, It's wise to run back through the pack and reel them in. I think it's a bit undue to blame DPS sometimes because of a tank's negligence to realize that this pull isn't your typical snoozer.

Eos comment made sense, because if the tank doesn't pick the ranged up on time, everyone gets hit with ranged DoTs, and Whispering Dawn is the easiest answer for the pull, allowing the Scholar to at-least DoT/Bane the junk.

+1 on the eos comment, I run with Eos full time in dungeons, WD nets me quite a bit of extra cleric stance uptime which in turn easily outweighs Selene's soso buff.

Low-level leveling roulette, sastasha. tank was a leaf gld that sprinted everywhere and only did flash. Lost hate every pull. Last room was a triple-heal party (both dps were casters) tank wouldn't listen to us trying to explain.
