People can still do screenshots, though!

If people are hard-press on wanting high-damaging players, why do they play with PuGs? If it's that serious, then those players SHOULDN'T be raiding until their squad is online.

I was doing A11S. Within one group, we had two people parsing. One person said our MNK was 2100 while the other person said the MNK was 2400. You people are too obsessed with dps, that sometimes that dps come with a loss of knowing mechanics.

One scenario had us in Zurvan where first Soar was skipped but they couldn't do tethers for the life of them, while those who were doing low damage was capable of doing tethers AND Soar.

Nah! The child will be the cry-baby that think having such dps programs will make things better. I strongly believe it will make things worse. People will not try if they KNOW they are being tracked. "They will say I'm doing bad anyway, so I'll just spam my 1-2-3 combos."

So no change then? I've seem quite a few drgs who only 1 2 3 in dungeons. And NOONE KICKS THEM. Why? Cuz we'll clear..... eventually? Now, say the healer that defends the drg against me asking him to use heavy thrust or disembowel or and aoes could see the drg is only doing 400 dps instead of 2200-2400 might rethink his white knightedness

Honestly I would love if they'd stop their constant obsession with DPS checks if they don't want parsing to be part of their game. Why focus so heavily on having a bottom line for damage and then tell your players simultaneously to never talk about damage numbers in detail?

T7 was a good example of a turn that mostly just required doing mechanics and "just getting a clear." I'd like to see more turns like that.

Also denying that behavior exists imo is being complicit with said behavior. I've noticed by looking at your posts you are quick to use "anecdote" as a means to attack another's point usually regarding bad behavior. By all means disagree but at least state why instead of dismissive. It makes your argument weak.

If you do, present said evidence then my dismissal as anecdote really will mean nothing. But if you can't then it's not an argument worth any time to consider.

I'm convinced that is in largely because they think because they are clearing stuff (literally anything), what they're doing is okay, and there's no point in trying to fix what isn't "broken". There's only three ways I can see to deal with this. Either you make the content MUCH harder (like, Ex Primals become the minimum difficulty, hard), you start punishing the underperformers with penalties for underperforming, or you give notable rewards to those performing well or overachieving in any and all content. If players see that by doing well enough, they get rewarded, they will want to improve in order to get those rewards. As it stands, the game does not particularly reward players doing more than the minimum, so there's very little incentive improve. And strictly speaking, they don't NEED to get better to clear the content or claim their roulette rewards or drops. These bad players clear content all the time. A noticeable, and personal carrot at the end of the stick is, IMO, the only way we're going to see positive change.

So I'm to take screenshots of every bad behavior I've seen in game? Edit them so I'm not name shaming just to get you a picture to prove my experience. Which you can then just spout photoshop to dismiss it? No. I don't think so. It's pretty clear that this type of behavior exists in this community.

Lol even then it would be anecdotal, and nobody is saying this behavior doesn't happen. I'm saying that nobody has anything beyond anecdote to back up the claim that everybody--or even the majority-- would be toxic with the parsers.

Because it's pretty rare. I can go in a duty finder where i tell a blm to use fire 2 on aoe, then replies it's his game and I cant tell him how to play.
I have soo many screenshots of this. In fact ill take ss from now on, with people harrasing with parser vs without.

KNowing the actually fight with doing decent/good amount is a whole different thing. A tool would help more than anything. Tools are there to help, not to screw people up. But sadly a big majority are narrow minded and refuse to try or belive they doing good enough. I do agree at some ppint it will bring people to be ashamed of themselves, I was once too, but when people taught me and parsed me through fights, because of ps4 here, I got a lot better and it's so much more fun!
I never said that the current system is wrong or bad. It is not the cause for the big gap we have now.
If we had a parser since the beginning (Since FFXIV:ARR) things might have been better. I'm just pointing out that adding it now when the gap is huge is a mistake.

At the moment, if they wanted to add a parser, it should only be for EX and Savage. Where dps check is a thing. Anyone queueing for them or joining PF for them is automatically agreeing to be parsed.

Again, this will turn many people away from such content. The devs don't want this. They want to encourage people to do hard content and they want to lower the skill gap between players.
