Character creation isn't that big a deal. I would put it at the bottom of the list, compared many other things I would like to be changed/improved first. So, with each new expansion that supposedly contains a whole game's worth of new content, you're completely content to sit by without expecting any additions to character creation? Whether they've said no before or not doesn't matter. Each new expansion delivers what is essentially a game refresh, that is the perfect time to offer updates and enhancements to character creation.
Raiding isn't a big part of the game if you look at the completion rates, yet it gets attention every expansion and every other patch. I'd bet that there are at least as many interested in more character options and glamour as there are raiding. By your logic SE should stop working on raids. What do you think?

More character options isn't gonna give players incentive to keep playing the game, while raiding does. Glamour, while something that does keep people playing, is also something that can tie into raiding, unless you've never done any old raids for the purpose of collecting glamour gear? (or in the case of Coil, crafting mats for dyeable versions.)Raiding isn't a big part of the game if you look at the completion rates, yet it gets attention every expansion and every other patch. Raiding does nothing for me, thank you very much.More character options isn't gonna give players incentive to keep playing the game, while raiding does. ♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
You're correct. I will say it's not an issue of skill, although I would never claim to be anything special, I do at least know how to do my rotations and be more than a Netflix tank. But raiding doesn't really hold any attraction to me. One thing I have learned on this forum is that it always pays to be straightforward and clear on that point. That said, I will probably unsync some instances for completion's sake, and there are a couple of the ponies I would like to acquire. All things in their due time.
No, Kosmos is not an Alt, I've played since the 3rd phase of the Beta of ARR. I simply have no interest in raids beyond the completionist element that will one day get me to do 1st coil. I did make a start on it all way back in ARR, but I very quickly decided that the stress, drama and strict timetable of a static would not work for me. My life is sufficiently chaotic that I cannot commit to a specific schedule of play, so rather than inflict that on a static, I stay clear of it. But more than that, the drama associated with the loot restrictions and repeated wipes due to imperfect 8-player synchronized dancing and the stress that ultimately results is not for me. I'm here to enjoy myself, and that's just not something that brings me joy.
The point I was making in my post was this. If you look at the completion rates for Raids in this game, they are anemic. Character creation is something every player interacts with and for a lot of players is an aspect of the game that they enjoy playing with both through the Aesthetician and through Fantasia or even Alts. So on one hand we have content that appeals to a specific group of players and yet get's continual attention from the development team - Raids, and on the other we have content that appeals to a specific group of players and gets no attention from the developers. I believe that it's quite likely that there are as many players who would like to see improvements to character creation as there are who follow the raids closely. The thing is, raiding is seen as a legitimate development need an mainstream content, but people dismiss character creation and glamour as a 'dress up' game. I am not dismissing raiding, it's just not my thing. But to be fair, character creation could use work, and many players would enjoy that and benefit from it.
Seems like a fairly easy argument to understand.

What do you mean, "by your logic"? you mentioned raiding, not me. I didn't even say anything about what gets more attention, and what doesn't, or who completes what, or anything lol.Raiding isn't a big part of the game if you look at the completion rates, yet it gets attention every expansion and every other patch. All I said is that its not a big deal, cause it isn't. not to me anyway. This game has never been advertised as a dress up game, and I certainly don't play it for that reason.
And if I had to choose which would get more attention, it would be raiding. I actually like playing the game, and more options to play the game is always more appealing for me.
