Don't bother to be honest if anything just a basic HQ set melded + tools from red scrips and thats about it. At this point the gil you need to invest for a proper set is not worth it.

Kinda agree, if we look at the transition from 2.0 to 3.0 only the tools were kept, gear was replaced rather quickly, Believe Lucis were the strongest tools you could obtain.
The Main tool for crafters had 97 control, 180 craftmanship. Hardsilver Saw, lv 55 was the first tool to be superior to the 2.0 tool being a 101/188 NQ with a 119/222 HQ.
As for gear. I believe Artisan's Apron was top tier body piece for crafter with 39/119 HQ con/craft. Secondary option form Artisan Gown 35/107 with 2 CP. But basically Holy Rainbow Coatee which was lv 53 had 44/137 or 51/161 if HQ so in terms of longevity, the gear didn't last very long.
If the effort is worth letting said gear last from 60-63 or 60-65, then go for it, but in all honesty you may be better off saving that gil for use in the expansion than preparing for it.
