The added space in inventory would be enough if they'd:
1) Give us a separate tackle box that can hold all the baits in the game.
2) Move all the currency items out of inventory and into the currency window.
3) Make better use of the armoire. (There's no excuse for it not even including promotional gear like the maid/butler sets or eastern outfits. And it should be expanded to include things like all AF type gear, including augmented AF and the crafter/gatherer AF sets.)
4) Add a glamour log. (Or alternately, expand the armoire much further, so it can hold all the gear in the game rather than just specific pieces. Then it could serve for all our glamour storage. That could be better than having some things in the armoire, others repurchaseable from the calamity salvager, others stored on our retainers, others maybe in a glamour log or some other new feature. Let us have one place that holds all of it.)
I'm still not sure the added space in the armory chest would be enough, though. It's better than what we've got now, but it should be at least Max Number of Gear Sets + 1. (The +1 because you have to have an empty slot in the chest in order to equip a new piece of gear.) I think it's 42 gear sets currently, so presumably 44 when SB comes out. That means we should have at least 45 slots in each armory chest category, but we're only going up from 25 to 35.
As for crafting materials, that could use some downsizing of rarely used items (especially for CUL). But I'd settle for just an easy way to see which items are rarely used, and which are easily obtained. Using the Obsidian example mentioned earlier, it's only used in two recipes, and can be either mined from easy low-level deposits or bought from an NPC for just a few gil. It's easy enough to look up those facts and realize it's not worth storage space if that's the only item you're concerned about. But usually, you're dealing with hundreds of different materials and have to look up each and every one of them individually in order to find out that information. That's where the "what to keep and what to sell" question gets to be a hassle. It would be so much easier to sort out what's worth storing if there was a setting to highlight items in our (or our retainer's) inventory that can be purchased from NPC vendors, and an option to switch from basic material tooltips like we have now to detailed material tooltips that list what recipes a material is used in.

The regular (non-expanded) view adds tabs as needed. You usually have a key items window with a single tab of 25 slots, but when you get more than 25 key items it adds a second tab, for a total of 50 slots. I've never actually gotten over 50 key items at once, so I've never seen it with a third tab, but I'm guessing it could add that as well if it actually reached that point.
I agree that seems a better place for most of it.
Holding onto armor for a freaking game system that lets you mix and match pieces to create outfits is not hoarding, and it should NOT be unreasonable to expect SE design a way that's a bit more user-friendly to store these appearances. I've got all jobs leveled above 50 (about half at 60) on my main, and I have ZERO retainer space left - and that's without the vast majority of the ARR and HW end game armors. My armory is a constant nightmare as well, as I'm also leveling all the crafting jobs. That addresses requirements for hoarding. I'm talking about keeping the sets you actually use glamours of. Which don't even need to be in the armoury. Like if you want to have 26 jobs all with unique gear (except rings), and glamour every single one of those pieces to something else... you can! No, you won't be able to fit all of that in your armoury, but you have enough space between inventory and retainers to do that.
A mere increase in inventory and a little bit of armoury does nothing to ease what is actually causing the space issues for players.
I agree, that is why I made this thread. As is, the changes is not enough. The added space in inventory would be enough if they'd:

For armory chest it isn't. My baseline id double the amount of the classes you have, so ATM that be 42 (counting SB jobs) so I am not happy with 35 armory. It is not enough if we are given no extra glam options.
REMEMBER! *to anyone saying this is enough* We been begging for more space since HW RELEASE! (because of all the new material and gear bloating. This additional space is not enough for HW+SB + future SB. It is HW beta at best. (meaning it should increase as HW went on) They are still way behind in giving us enough space to function if you are muli job + crafter/gather.

I was expecting at least 5 slots on every armory tab. I was expecting at least an increase of at least 175. But not all on personal inventory. A new storage npc, increased retainer, increase in personal, or some feature I can't even think of.
A hundred slots on personal inventory is fine. 450 total free storage is not. Oh lets praise our awesome dev team 40 slot total increase. Less then 10% increase of player inventory. Wouldn't want to cut into our worse then f2p inventory rental system.
For reals. I still don't understand how people are okay with this. Do they realize how much money they ultimately end up spending on freaking inventory space? Even the worst f2p games don't do this...
That is why I pointed out the retainer cost. Buying one may not be a big deal but if you are buying 6 because crafter main and like to keep stuff for glams, 8 total is not enough and that doubles your sub cost. That is absurd.
Ether give us enough space to function (lacking since HW release)/ more free retainers/ or do extreme trimming on item bloat.
Also I am going to add a 12th note to the first post, Item management.

26 likes and not even been a day yet, I am honored. Thank you for showing your support in this concern.

I mean, its a 40% inventory increase, with them looking into more as long as its stable. Thats not something to be concerned about at this time.
