Imagine if Machinist gets a Heavy Laser Rifle as well.
If they're going for Machinist becoming a Heavy Weapon type Gunner Job then boy oh boy I hope they bring in some nice Tech Rifles to use. Kind of like Destroyers from Dungeon Fighters.
Would LOOOOOVE some Laser Rifle type stuff. Full on- brace yourself and use 2 hands level recoil.
Actually, they probably meant Blank(Or Suppressive Fire, I guess...) since those are both 5 yalm skills. Spread Shot is also relatively short range, but it at least gets up to 12 yalms with trait, which is half the range of other skills rather than... 20% in the case of Blank and Suppressive. I'm still a little miffed that our 5 yalm stun isn't just a bloody pistol whip.https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Spread_Shot This ability is the one I believe they are referring to, which is technically similar to the flamethrower ability so I wonder how it will differ.
That said, MCH's game has always been about weaving- weaving oGCDs and GCDs, weaving buffs into rotations, and weaving between melee and ranged to get your blanks and stuns in. This isn't anything new, it's just another thing to dump on the enemy in a wildfire combo.
Really, I'm more concerned about if they finally merged Dismantle and Rend Mind.
Can we just sit and admire this Final fantasy brand tommy gun real quick?
Another melee range skill Im fine with really, Blank has a friend now!
Also it may be worth pointing out:
There is a significant lack of gauss barrel here. This may or may not mean something. Also notice theres a puff of red glow at the barrel when activating the flamethrower

Interchangeable isn't necessarily the same as having the exact same skills, though. In terms of movement control, all tanks have a form to "stand their ground," so to speak, that work different from each other. DRK has Plunge, which makes it so they can reposition immediately after a knockback from the boss, or keep the boss still after a forced movement, like the jumps in A8. PLD has Tempered Will, which is crap, I know, but hopefully we'll see them rebalance it to make it a worthwhile CD. WAR has Holmgang, which doubles as the immunity, and of course you want to use it for the immunity, so WAR is the one that's left in the dust when it comes to cancelling movement. I guess that's the reason they're giving WAR a gap closer.
I'm holding more opinions until we actually see a change log, though. I think an excess of homogenization could be detrimental for the state of the game, but we cannot be sure about anything until we have patch notes. I do think most of the skills seen in the Benchmark Trailer look pretty cool, though. I'm infinitely curious about the new stuff each healer is showing off.
That kinda goes against the spirit of Greased Lightning, its not like Warrior's stacks that are meant to be spent, its meant to be conserved at all costs. The only reason Tornado Kick burns it is because it's designed to mitigate the massive loss of when you'll inevitably lose it to bosses going invulnerable.
Honestly it's kind of hard to tell what the ability does from what we have compared to say, Machinists Flamethrower or Dark Knight's Dark Cover. It's entirely possible that they used Tornado kick in this trailer because it's the flashiest move that monk has and it's fairly cinematic by nature. Going back to the Heavensward Trailer they did a number of things that were done that don't make sense with current rotations (Delirium and Armor Crush being used on nothing). There's some speculation elsewhere that the ability requires getting hit to proc because the Monk used Fists of Earth for example, but that would literally make it Haymaker 2.0 so I'd like to think that a lot of it is style before substance.
Now I'm imagining the MCH slowly becoming the Storm Bringer from DFO...I am not against this.

to me for the whole WHM / PLD Holy thing it looks like to me that the WHM cast Reflect on the Pally then cast Holy - the Holy bounces off the Paladin's shield onto the enemy. Reflect is a spell we haven't seen yet that is a classic FF whm spell.
Was it ff2 or ff3, I remember having to cast reflect on the boss, so that when the boss cast cure on itself, it would bounce to a party member.....
