I think you are referring to the wrong game, I can still log in to FFXIV, so it is not dead.

Seriously? Sheesh...people will just say whatever pops into their heads, and some poor sucker's actually gonna give them some credibility. It's happened various times before in history, that's for sure.

Wow, does anyone actually watch the videos on this website? I thought I was going to die out of boredom, 2 seconds from falling asleep. Nothing new, doomsayers, they are a dime a dozen and rarely base anything on fact.

I don't care if people sub to it. I won't, because there are still better options out there for me at this point. I cannot justify personally paying the sub before 2.0 when the whole game is going to change. Instead of sitting through numerous patches leading up to 2.0 and having a lot of smaller changes come over time, I'd rather wait for 2.0 and be overwhelmed with the changes so it feels drastically different than right now. I know that if I continue to play before 2.0, the game won't feel drastically different because it's going to be a ton of changes over time instead of all of them hitting at once. I personally prefer being hit with all the changes at once so I don't say, "Well only 5 things were changed from last patch." I want to be able to say, "90% of the game has been reworked since last year when I played."

I plan to stay throughout all of it up until 2.0 but you do make a very good point at coming back to something entirely new. The nice thing is that it will also be like this for people who stay, at least to a degree and in terms of story. Personally for me I see no interesting alternative out there but for those that do then I only hope they check back in at 2.0.
