This is something you do AFTER the initial agro burst. If you do it right you still have 55-60% after everything. My tank friend does this on small pulls to because he's so used to the rotation. You think it doesn't help much because of rng, but add that then stunlocking from holy basically makes you almost as invincible as the hallowed + holy spam combo for 17 seconds of 0 damage being done to the tank.

Dark Arts + Dark Passenger is still an utter waste of MP. It's the near equivalent of Warriors cross classing Featherfoot (don't do that). Not only is 20% barely noticeable, mobs barely tickle even when close to the level requirements if you rotate actual cooldowns. If you have a WHM, either pop Blood Price early, which lets them Regen/heal and get out an Aero III or wait until the third or so Holy hits as stun immunity should set it.

Came here to say this. I've noticed it's become more and more prevalent and it's driving me mad. I've been put off off using Medica II unless I absolutely have to because the sound of it makes my skin crawl.

Healers who mass stun the enemy group right when I pop blood price at the end of a mass pull chain. Like I know your helping stop damage but during that time I am mass spamming Dark Arts + Abyssal Drain and have a shield popped.

Being told how to play a job by someone who can't even play theirs.

What grinds my gears are people who don't know how to handle their aggro. That little bar with the number is important, people.

Related to the first one, tanking low level duties in general. I love tanking, almost as much as healing; but, anything before my tank stance becomes available is frustrating. I was #4 on threat today on Ifrit even though I hit flash 3 times and kept to my enmity rotation. That's just nuts. Yeppers, that really ground my gears.

People who don't have Limit Break on their action bar.

Players that zone into a duty then promptly drop. Extra points if it's the tank, unless I'm on a dps/tank character, at which point I'll just switch classes and go on until the first boss.

Players who purposely ignore mechanics. Now, I easily forgive players making mistakes. After all, I am by no means a stellar player myself. But, it gets my goat when I see players ignoring mechanics because they are afraid it'll affect their dps.

    I'm like, really?

Sorry, bad player, but there is no gold star for doing so and so amount of dps.
Technically, you can't even see your dps unless you are using something against this game's ToS. You either get the boss down or you don't. Follow the mechanics and win. End of story.

The gogogo speedrunners. Holy crow! Get a grip people! Your life won't end if you allow some of us to loot or get off a decent heal. It's only what two seconds? Sheesh.

Finally, the number one thing that grinds my gears is the duty or raid troll. That one person who intentionally tries to ruin everyone's day through either their actions or their posts. What's wrong with these guys?

Other than that, I'm a laid back lalafell.

Hey, that was rather therapeutic. I'm going to make myself some ginger tea and relax.

When DPS get tunnel vision on bosses like Scathach, and refuse to kill adds; especially the second set of hands.

Or when neither of the OTs want to pick up the add so it just runs around wrecking people's lives until a MNK or DRG manages to move it away from Scathach.

Party members who stand just outside my Asylum (or Sacred Prism in PvP). It's right there. Free heals. You were standing in it when I cast it, why did you move out of it you dense mfer!

Gotta love the Medica II spam when the boss just landed and you need to build up your hate all over again as a tank. Hell yeah!

Yo, think about it... in which rpg or battle in other games are healers designed to only heal? I tell'ya: In no one.

Medic in video games: Shoots at enemies when no ones needs a medic. E.g. in CoD, Killzone, but also in RTS: StarCraft, X-Com, ..., oh yeah.. and real war ofc.

Baldurs Gate/DnD in general/quite every other RPG: Cleric/Druid will hit enemies or cast offensive/cc spells if no one needs healing (unless player character lore forbids)

FF games: If no one needs healing, healer casts sanctus/cc/offensive stuff or gets swapped out.

It was never a meta that a healer should act like Desmond T. Doss!!!

Pacifism is not part of the healer meta!

The only time I played only healing healers in a game was in theme hospital.
Wait.. no, the physicians there killed a lot of people, too.
