LGBT Friendly Free Companies in Excalibur?

well, having these LGBT-only communities makes me think that they DO wanna talk about their sexuality, because otherwise no one should really be concerned about it in the first place.

Personally, I have pretty much always had 1-2 gay people in almost every fc ive been, and they were super open about it, not beating around the bush, and no one gave them crap for it.
(if they did, they wouldve been shown the door out,pretty sure)

So I just dont really buy this whole "everyone is so homophobic, Ive had so many bad experiences" thing....especially not within this game's community. (i dont doubt that its a completely different thing in FPS games or games like LoL with their cancer community)

To each their own, but at the end of the day it kinda feels weird that such players feel the need to seclude themselves from the rest.....kind of like as if we arent good enough for them.

No offense though, its just my personal thoughts and I might be wrong.

Last I checked, TKN and Abyss were pretty decent-sized, inclusive FCs. I know there are more, those are just the 2 that I remember.

I don't understand what ppl mean when they ask for FCs that are LGBT friendly? Are there FCs out there known to NOT be friendly to specific groups of people? I'm a minority with a minority religion but it never would have occurred to me to seek out an FC that is specifically friendly to me. I just don't get it... I thought FCs were made up of all different types of people...

It's more of I don't have to feel skittish around people and worry about how they think of me... I was just hoping for a friendly group without worry of backlash.

I haven't met any jerks on Excalibur (myself excluded) and have met only met very few playing this game. Jump on some linkshells and talk, eventually you will find your people.

Apart from middle eastern countries, LGBT-related topics are generally accepted throughout the world (even though some "activists" try to convince you otherwise).
The best way to normalize it even more is to simply mix with normal FCs and not retreat into safe spaces which exclude any kind of contrary opinion.

There was this gay guy on my server, incredibly insecure about his sexual orientation and all, so I constantly told him to be a man about it and don't act like a wimp, even called him ****sucker and other things and eventually he started joking about it himself which was nice. He came up with some pretty creative homoerotic neologisms which made me lol

Honestly I'd just find a solid, good FC and then get a few LGBT friendly/focused LSs. The LS system is sometimes forgotten about altogether but can be a great resource.

Not everyone is homophobic and I know that. But, I have had bad run in on other games and I didn't mean to imply that the people of FF14- or anyone for that matter- are not good enough. I'm just being cautious and I didn't think there would be anything wrong with that. I'm sure the most are friendly, but I've been met with harassment before and I really don't want to go through it again on this game.

Generally, in XIV you're fairly safe with any FC (as LGB at least, had T friends have less great experiences but even then many of them have really good ones). He asked for an LGBT friendly FC, not LGBT only. There are plenty of groups around on all types of games that advertise as LGBT friendly and are full of plenty of straight/cis/etc. members and just want people to know everyone is welcome.

I said I had a few bad experiences on other games. It's been extremely rare considering all of the games I've played and groups I've joined, but those few times it happened were bad enough that I make sure to join groups where I know it won't be a problem. It's great that you and other people here have never run into any homophobic or transphobic or whatever people in your lives, but everyone shares different experiences. There are lots of bad things I'm sure I've never experienced, but I don't immediately think people are lying when they say they have. It's also worth noting that LGBT is more than just gay people.

Just to reiterate this: He asked for an LGBT friendly FC. And even then, groups that are just labeled "Eorzea's largest LGBTQIA+ FC/LS!" are generally inclusive of everyone.

I've heard quite a few anti-LGBT remarks in the game from people who got a bit too fired up and forgot they weren't playing CoD or something; it happens. Nothing deliberate, but I can completely understand wanting to join a group that frowns on that kind of thing instead of dismissing it as casual banter as some would. On the whole though, it's a very inclusive and friendly community IMO.
