I typod pretty bad and always edit my post, my fault for lack of concise response.

It wasn't about making sexuality a defining trait and I didn't mean to make my intentions seem as such. It's more of I don't have to feel skittish around people and worry about how they think of me... I was just hoping for a friendly group without worry of backlash.

Yeah, I get it. I've had a few pretty bad experiences on other games, so I won't even join an FC (or guild on any game) that doesn't at least have an anti-discrimination policy in the rules/code of conduct. Not that I can't handle a few assholes; I just don't want to deal with the drama.It wasn't about making sexuality a defining trait and I didn't mean to make my intentions seem as such. I wish I could suggest a group for you on Excalibur, but I don't know a lot of people here either.I just recently left a group I have played with since meeting them in early 2005 on FFXI, so I'm looking for an FC too. I hope you can find a home soon!

Aw, sorry to hear that! :C Best of luck on your FC searching!Yeah, I get it. It is the same with me, too. I've played other games and had some bad reactions and it is something I just want to avoid entirely. If there was a group I can identify with or just have people already understanding and kind, I was thinking that would be perfect way to meet people and stop worrying so much. ; -;

Greetings,
I represent the FC Final Limit Break. Though we are not a LGBT FC, we don't discriminate. If you would like to join our small fc, you're more than welcome to. Either as a permanent member or until you find a FC that better suits your needs.
Just look for Velt Starcaller in-game if interested. I will be doing my weekly instance runs today, so if search doesn't show me on, I may be in an instance.
Going back to Ultima Online in 1998, I have never been in a guild/corp/org/FC/whatever that gave a hoot about the RL sexual orientation of any of the members. I honestly cannot recall a discussion ever popping up in IRC/game chat/voice chat that ever even mentioned the subject. Now that is either a remarkable coincidence with odds bordering on astronomical, or gamers generally don't give a rat's patootie about sexual orientation generally. Given the number of games I've played, game conventions I've attended, etc...I'll go with the latter.
And given FF14 bordering on cutesy anime overload....methinks finding an FC that is LGBT friendly requires finding ANY FC WHATSOEVER and applying.
You could check if any of these are still active: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ed-August-2014
To me it seems FFXIV has quite a large LGBT playerbase also outside these dedicated FCs and LSs, and all the groups I've played with could be classified as friendly without being on any lists.
Yeah, maybe the "game jock" crowd that plays every version of Madden like they are going pro E-sports or something, and only play CoD and GTA in their downtime...and also advertise that they are looking for "neo-nazi troglodytes only, no wimps need apply", But those aren't gamers. Not IMHO anyway.
In MMOs, where the population is much more "proper gamer" dorks like me? Not one time has my sexual orientation ever been questioned, inquired on, mentioned, etc. I am a male who plays female characters exclusively (MMORPG = Many Men Online Role Playing Girls), and I honestly cannot recall, even back when that was "uncool" anyone ever giving me grief over it, mentioning it, etc.
It's just something I have never seen in MMO gaming. Almost every guild/FC has play nice, politeness, civility rules that they take more seriously than anything else, and even the uber raid guilds don't care about sexual orientation stuff or anything other than your time played per week, your iLvl, and your dedication to the perfect rotation. Bottom line is that real gamers just don't care, and tend to be inclusive by default, so long as your dedication to gaming itself is wired right. MMOs are the province of real gamers, like 4X strategy and hex wargaming. Niche crowds who welcome everyone.
