Forcing players to pay to keep housing is unfair.

So due to me going on holiday this month money is tight and I decided I would take a break from FF for a short time plus there's little for me left to do in game. I am not aloud to do this though without losing my house that I have invested millions of Gil into.

Squares inability to provide enough housing is not my fault why am I being punished and pressured into paying every month? I actually entered my house a couple of weeks ago and am now getting a 10 day notice!?

Players should be allowed to take a break from the game without having to worry about losing things they have worked for in game due to squares own failings. I now have no choice but to pay for the game when I'm not even going to be around to play it. Thanks Square.

I understand why this system is in place but I do not think it is fair. It basically traps players into paying their subscription every single month. There is a life outside of FF and I don't deserve to lose my house for wanting to take a break.

You don't wanna pay? There's other people who would pay to have your house. In a world where housing is limited, there is no such thing as fair or unfair for you. As much as I hate the word, entitlement is what I smell from this post.

I'm sorry that money is tight though but the reality is the reality.

Unless you bought you house before December 2015, can't really say I feel sorry for you. It not exactly a secret and based on your forum post count doesn't look like you new to the forums either. Which there ton of threads about this, bringing me back to the point that housing reclaim timer not some kind of secret.

The demolishing timer should be scrapped entirely because of this. Or some degree of leasing system implemented. Maybe trade a "venture" or some similar item to keep your plot for a week.

Demo timer only starts when your lease runs out. That way people unsubbing and taking a break could toss a ton of ventures into it and know it's safe for the next few months

Failing that major extend the demo timer to 180 days or something such.

That only affects people that bought a house prior to December 2015, anyone that bought a house afterwards can't use that as a defense.

I'll post essentially what I just posted on the other thread (what is this the hot topic today?). You shouldn't have a house if you can't be bothered to log in once every 44 day (honestly, no one really cares how much money you invested in the house). Someone else will gladly pay the subscription for the house.

Also - It's not like I don't understand where you are coming from. I had to take a two month break due to some things and I lost my personal house. I just moved on. Maybe one day I will get another. Right now, I have no desire to get another. I'm glad someone else got the enjoyment from it.

Like I said I fully understand why this system is in place but there are many reasons why players may not be able to play for a month. I could be hospital dying. I have invested hundreds of hours and money into this game and if I want to be away for one short month I should be able to without being punished. The timer should be longer than one month.


It's very convienant for a pay monthly game that you're only allowed to be away for one month.

There's also little reason to even play right now. I have achieved everything I want to. Saying players are not allowed to take breaks without losing something is ridiculous. It's not my fault you can't get a house it is Squares.

Set new goals, there is always something to do. If it upsets you that much, just relinquish it (or let the auto timer demo it, at least you will get some gil back). It's no ones fault but yours that you cannot log in once every 44 days. I have no idea why everyone keeps posting 30 days; housing demo is 45 days, which last i checked, was longer than a month. Feel free to correct me if our months changed!

You dont' get to keep your real life apartment if you don't pay rent because other people are willing to pay the price. I view FFXIV housing the same.

It sucks that you lost your house and I sympathize although you should had the foresight to know that your house would be demolished, but the fact of the matter is is that the housing system is abysmal and they *have* to demolish houses or new players (and veterans) will never get a chance to have one.

I wish you luck rebuilding. At least it gives you a reason to play.
