They gave ample time for the 2014 live stream after they were over and now the same with the 2016-17 one. It seems its more of a personal issue and not really SE's issue.
Sorry no.
In this game where gear and other rewards for actually completing things becomes irrelevant in 1-2 patches there are too few exclusive items to brag about. Frankly, I love the occasional tell asking how I got my moogle glamour and compliments. If you weren't around to support the game/event at the time sorry. Try your best to keep up and stay active.
I don't have the money now.
Those things should be avaliable for when people are able to buy them or ideally go into the veteran rewards.

You don't need to have the money now since it available to purchase until August, Put away $10 a month and will be able to purchase it in June/July.
I don't understand the "being punished" for not having access to exclusives. I see it a lot in forums and posts regarding exclusive items. I literally do not understand it.
Don't get me wrong. I understand if someone says they're frustrated/angry/sad/disappointed for not having access to those things. I can relate mostly for frustrated and/or disappointed. But punished?
Someone's gonna have to break it down for me.
I don't feel superior to anyone because I have a wind-up Dalamud or a legacy chocobo, but part of what makes them special is that only a relatively small amount of players own them, and that proportion doesn't grow because they're no longer obtainable.
If you feel inferior to anyone because they have items you don't, that's entirely on you. Stop projecting.
Except when it's about the content of the game itself... *looks back at Coil, 2.2 extremes and the Lightning event*
If it's up until august I should be able to get it by then, however, I still think it's bad to limit the avaliability, anyone who doesn't knows or joins the game later won't ever be able to get them, just like the Mog costume.
By your very statement your self worth is tied to others not having things you have. You just used the word special instead of superior. Would you like me to edit my post to say special instead.I don't feel superior to anyone because I have a wind-up Dalamud or a legacy chocobo, but part of what makes them special is that only a relatively small amount of players own them, and that proportion doesn't grow because they're no longer obtainable.

I have a bunch of the junk from 1.0 it doesn't make me feel special. It doesn't make the items special. They are digital items. Which can be lost tomorrow if the close the servers. I didn't earn them. They are not a sign of skill. They are a sign I have a mastercard, a steady job, a decent amount of disposable income, and been around for awhile. That is not something I feel special/proud/superior over others.
If they are willing to pay the same amount I paid what does it matter if one, ten, or everyone has an item?
