With how events work, it's likely they'll tack SAM onto MNK's current GARO gear. BLM shares with SMN, which will likely share with RDM too.

Only unique sets are PLD, NIN and DRG really.

Knowing SE, I wouldn't be surprised if the MNK's AF gear as well as the event gear is/stays job exclusive. They might add a other version of this to the npc for SAM and RDM if they even bother since it's not a permanent event. But time will tell, I would recommend saving your pvp seals and just keep an eye on the upcoming live letters. Because you might be disappointed if you're saving for that set and SAM won't be able to wear it at the end.

AST/DRK/MCH didnt share AF with WHM/SCH, PLD/WAR and BRD. Since MCH/BRD share the same GARO gear, SMN/BLM share the same gear aswell and the 3 healers aswell, there is 98% chance that MNK and SAM will share the same GARO gear.

I understand that however these jobs were in the game as the event started. The new jobs are not and we have seen in the past, that most temporary and/or old content doesn't get added to the new available jobs. Again I might be wrong and SAM end up sharing that set with the mnk, but I wouldn't count on that.

AF gear will obviously be job-specific; that one's not even up for discussion. AF gear is each job's iconic FF-series look.

I think making a slight but important nitpick here will make "Will SAM share xx set?" questions easier in the future.

It's not really that SAM will share MNK gear. It's that SAM will share PGL gear. If the gear was designed for a PGL*, a SAM should be able to wear it. This allows us to distinguish easily between "strength equipment" (PGL MNK LNC DRG SAM), "striking equipment" (PGL MNK SAM gear), and "monk equipment" (MNK only).

*I say here, "designed for a PGL" and not just "labeled PGL" because the animal PvP sets were clearly made for jobs, even though classes can also equip them, so for this purpose we should consider the Hawkliege set as MNK-specific gear despite its PGL mark.

That in mind, since the Garro set is PGL gear, it's more likely that it will be available to SAM. However, it's a special event, with its own rules. The Garro equipment is a little strange in that all the heavy armors are job specific, while all the clothing is role specific. Still, the PGL MNK sets are clothing, so we can project that they will be a PGL MNK SAM set once Stormblood launches.


Of course, when an SE representative hasn't yet come down from the sky and said in official material, the best answer is always "probably (/not), but you'll just have to wait and see." But speaking from a probablistic standpoint, with precedent, we can use this as a basic guide.
