body had 2 x Mind v materia, the feet had a crit V and mind V then a bunch of empty slotsI honestly want to assume they were doing that just to screw with people. The easier it is to replace things like that, and the game just throws Vs at you now, the easier it is to sit around looking like a mess while having necessary stats when needed.
Though I'm probably giving too much credit.

A friendly reminder to read tooltips would help yes. I wouldn't mind either at the character creation screen, when a player picks their class it gives a plain as day window in the description of the classes primary stat and secondary stat. Same with the job crystal too. After its lore blurb of "This magic rock contains the memories of blahblahblah of blahblahblah ago" It then tells the jobs primary and secondary stats.
Then again the person might have been trolling for a laugh, but you never really know for certain.
They probably tried to meld INT, but it gave +0 so they they decided to go with MIND since it sounds spellcastery. Or they could just be trolling. Who knows.

Seems like a great idea. Toss on 18 Mind V materia, and I bet I could be breaking 900 HP restored with Physick.
Or they figured why not since they had nothing else. The number of people that do not meld at all is really high. I'm slow to complete my melds at times based on money situation, but if you don't raid you don't really need them so it not a big loss and why most folks don't meld.

Mousing over things to learn more via tooltips is a video game staple. Tooltips aren't exactly a pioneer game mechanic.Tbf, while the tooltips are there, the game doesn't really give any indication that there are tooltips at all. Unless the player actually figures it out by hovering, it is kinda just a wall of stats.
That said, the fact that BLM gear comes with no Mind at all should have been a bigger indication that it's entirely unnecessary.
no but "I honestly want to assume they were doing that just to screw with people. "
I was implying I disagreed with that since they are tossing a crit V away when they go fix it, plus if it was "expensive trolling" they would did all slots?>.>

That's my thought too.
90% of people don't even have anything melded. Hell even I don't have some of my stuff melded yet (worry about that when I get 260 pieces). So what difference would this make?
