Yoshi lied, Battle System Changes are actually a bigger change than we expected.

FFXIV 1.0, then FFX|V 2.0 and 3.0 but with the newest expansion we've decided to bring back a Roman Numeral that was replaced with a |. Introducing FFXI(-V) Battle System 4.0.

Roles have been changed and certain jobs removed completely, as we explain it we hope it becomes clear as to why these changes were made.

-Summoner will now be able to Summon a multitude of Primals however they will all share the same 1min ability cooldown.

--Because these abilities are so powerful a SMN's "Rotation" has been reduced to pressing 2 buttons. One for the Primal and two to use their ability.

-Machinist are now Corsair, using guns and cards and "pets" have been removed, because of this Astrologian will be removed from the game and any players who have leveled Astrologian will have their xp given to Corsair **If you are already 60 MCH(COR) the xp will add up and you will start at a higher level as long as you have the 4.0 expansion enabled.

-White Mage is now the only "Support" class and all other jobs with healing abilities will play the role of "support support"

-Scholar will no longer have pets, replaced with Light Art/Dark Arts giving them access to all Conjurer or THM skills under lv 30 depending on which stance they are in

-Dark Knight is now a DPS but due to these changes their Main Arm "Great-sword" has been replaced with a Scythe and they will no longer be able to equip said Main Arm

-Red Mage job being introduced in 4.0 will be like SCH, with a sword, but the sword itself won't be of much use in a majority of party content

    -Samurai is still a DPS

-Paladin is now the only "Tank" class and all other jobs that can tank will play the role of "Support Tank"

-Ninja is now a Support Tank but they no longer have access to Rogue abilities. Rogue abilities will be placed on the job Thief and be a new DPS job.

-Warrior is now a Support Tank, they can still take a hit but all means of personal damage mitigation have been removed.

-Dragoon's will be given a pet but due to time constraints they will borrow's the pet model of the SCH's pets until a proper Dragon Welp is made.

--The pet is just a motivational speaker, to make the Dragoon feel better when they KO in combat or jump into an AOE. Please focus on what your pet says rather than the party for a better gaming experience

-Monk relic will now be a belt (There are currently no plans to make visible "waist" models)

-Black Mage will now have access to all 6 elements

--Their effects will all be the same and there are no plans to change the current elemental system in PVE

-Bard job will only learn songs from their 30+ quest line which will need different instruments in their secondary in order to use.

--You can't change gear during combat so choose wisely which secondary you equip before combat!

This concludes the changes to FFX|V which will now be refereed to as FFXI(-V) in order to prevent any further confusion we will now show the roles of each job in the game.

    Tank: Paladin

    Support Tank: Warrior, Ninja

    Support: White Mage

Support Support: Scholar, Red Mage, Summoner(If you cross-class skills)

DPS: Corsair, Bard, Black Mage, Monk, Samurai, Summoner, Dragoon, Dark Knight, Thief, Warrior, Ninja, Scholar, Red Mage

The following changes have also been made to party composition in Duty Finder Content:

8-person content has been change from 2 Tanks, 2 Support and 4 DPS to 1 tank, 1 Support and 6 DPS

24-man content has been changed from 1 Tank, 2 Suppport and 5 DPS to 1 Tank*, 1 Support* and 6 DPS.

*Tank and Support will only be for Party A, Party's B and C will be "Support Tank" and "Support Support".
