When a f2p MMO manages to provide a far better deal than the cash shop in a p2p game, that's a problem.
Except a lot of game stuff is locked behind said cash shop, or rather, the sub for the game. I wouldnt call it consumer friendly lol

You can't create or invite people to a guild, warparty, arena team or circle. you only get 3 bazaar slots for buying and selling, the game is basically gimped unless you pay more than even XIV's basic sub. Wildstars free version is almost as restrictive as XIVs free trial, and THAT is ridiculous, since its a F2P game :P.

If you spend some plat on a CREDD, you unlock all of those things. Or if you bought the game. Even if you don't want to spend the time to earn the plat, you only need to spend $15 once to unlock those. You do NOT need to be subbed to the game. Those restrictions are there for a reason (combat gold sellers) and are perfectly reasonable, especially when they don't actually require you to invest any money in the game at all.

Maybe we are looking at 2 different things, because I pulled that info right off of their website.

And I play the game. You didn't look at the Cosmic Reward point system.

Since you probably don't realize it, Omnibits are a currency earned on a pretty frequent basis whenever you do anything that yields XP (xp is also awarded at level cap). They accrue at a pretty good pace, and after a week of doing content in my normal playtime I have more than enough to buy a couple dyes or a costume or whatever. A couple weeks, and I have enough to buy an account-wide mount if I want.

I actually really like Wildstar's f2p model and wish more f2p games would emulate it. Guild Wars 2 is another one that I think is pretty decent.

That said, the only other game I've played that does quarterly content updates is WoW, and go figure, it also follows the sub+optional microtransaction store model. I DO think there's correlation between this particular model and frequent content updates, yeah, no matter how much everyone wants to cry about "our sub money being used to fund KH3".
