I have seen more than my fair share of vote kicks and the reason was "from Moonguard" on WoW. None of this is new to me.
The best part is that people who fail with the mechanics, complain a lot and are pretty often the people who are responsible for not skipping the mechanic in the first place.^^
When i do Zurvan, i don't care if we skip soar, i care if people are able to handle the mechanic since something can always happen that you have to do it anyway. But i also understand people who leave a PF party for a ex primal if the party always wipes at the same spot (especially the so called farm partys).

Imo, it's just a game and people should be having fun. If little things get to some players, they really shouldn't be playing the game. Don't bring everyone down with you.

Fun is relative, and that's the thing.
Player A has fun being an Ice Mage. Player B has fun with victory and efficiency.
I'm in camp B. I'm sure someone is having fun on our fourth wipe to the same mechanic, but it's definitely not me.

Again, that's an issue with player mentality and not a flaw of the game, which is what was implied. Even with your player A and player B statement, it's a reflection of player mentality and not a flaw with the game.
Western players place emphasis on individual over the group (which is not what happens in places like Japan and their communities). You'd be surprised how many Zurvan parties that didn't know soar, but picked up on the mechanic well and could farm it once it was explained. Skipping is great and all, but the mechanic should still be learned.
