I'm pretty sure these costumes are based in some part on the Dissidia versions, unless someone has a FFVIII screen to compare with.

That's also the FFVIII one , Dissidia includes original ones and alternate.

Not really. The original one doesnt have those details on the shirt, nor that big V-neck. No extra clothing on the right side and no wings/feathers on the hips. And two crossed belts. The VR outfit is one of the Dissidia ones.

I don't really like the Dissidia version (this one)
I much prefer the original which had a longer Griever necklace, shorter V-neck on the shirt and no hip feathers/fluff. Heck I even prefer the Kingdom Hearts version, but this one is not terrible, and I wasn't going to use it really so, who cares I guess? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Now Rinoa's coat would be really nice or Selphie's dress or some SeeD uniforms *o*

Haven't seen anyone wearing it least not on balmung, plus everyone else has given their opinion about what they think about the outfit you are the only negative post here. But w/e is is the forums i think you are expecting too much.

I have had the outfit on an alt for a bit now, but in pure white, also looks very nice in that color.

Its not toooooo bad of an outfit, would have preferred a full crop jacket with no frilly stuff at the waist and not always with a stiff tail of material ...but its not too bad
