Just met the world champion of Dark Knight in PotD Floor 41-50.

We clear a couple floors and i notice the guy can't tank anything and dont have tank stance active. I ask him if he could actually tank and he sarcasticaly answer me with "no sorry".

We keep going and i notice that he actually doesnt make ANY EFFORT at tanking and actually let the DPS pull.

I ask: "are you seriously waiting for the dps to pull"
his answer...:"yes, i dont have a ranged attack"

At that point i just facepalm. And tell him that he does have one but anyway, the guy next tell me that he can't tank because there's no healer... and tells us, DPS, to SHARE AGGRO IF WE DONT WANT TO GET HURT. #Facedesk

We make it to the boss and the DRK really dont want to pull so we waste 2 minute before we dps decide to pull. I end up with aggro, die after using my self heal + potions, the guy obviously dont take aggro back and we wipe and wasted 40 minutes.

I was so baffled and pissed that i had to report him.

The Vault (of nightmares).

I had the honour of partying the legendary " Medica 2 only" WHM, and having a newbie tank probably didn't help either. Her answer to every bit of damage was Med 2 and Regen. And religiously kept M2 up, even if we were running between groups. Which, was pretty much all she did. If tank took too much damage to heal with just M2 and regen, she'd spam M2 repeatedly. My inner WHM couldn't let this tavesty pass, so I remarked, " You can use Cure 2 if only the tank is taking dmg". And was hit in the face with a " I main WHM since 1.0, I know what I'm doing." Err... no you don't. We didn't fail... much, but we did die a few times at Grinnaux and Charibet because she ran out of MP. We ended up vote abandoning it in the end.

Come to think of it, it was a miracle we even passed Grinnaux at all. I think I officially HATE the sound of M2 now.

This made me laugh because I got one of these. I was in a much easier dungeon though: Copperbell. (and I guess with medica instead of medica II). Honestly we did fine, but literally all she did was run around spamming medica. It was annoying as hell because she would then run away with the enemies she aggroed so it took sooo much longer to complete. And then when we got to last boss she had balls to try and tell us how to DPS it. Like dude, you can tell me how to DPS when you learn how to heal. >.<;;

So, apparently, you can fail Guildhests. I didn't even know that was possible until tonight.

I queued for roulette on my lowest class (AST) just to get the challenge log out of the way and ended up in the one with the turtle boss with a BLM, sprout GLD, and sprout ROG. I knew that the sprouts probably don't know how to do the fight, but usually a quick word or two in chat about moving the turtle after we get the fire core is enough. I even had high hopes because, even though the GLD went straight for the turtle, he at least attempted to pick up the other adds once I got healer aggro (dps killed them before he got them back, but at least there was effort shown.) Anyway, fire sprite spawns and the BLM and I kill it, then move over to the herb pouch and start calling the tank. No response. More adds spawn (didn't even know that could happen either) and he dutifully picks them up but keeps them right there. I stop healing and figure that, worst case scenario, the tank will die and the BLM will get aggro and end up moving the turtle to the right spot. Nope. ROG was tunneling the boss the whole time, also ignoring us in chat telling him to stop dps and right after the tank died, the turtle went down too and the whole thing failed. Sure it was only a guildhest and failing was only a minor inconvenience for me (as a healer, the queue was instant) but I've been playing FF14 off and on for years and never even realized this could happen.

In short, there is nothing wrong with not knowing exactly what you are doing when you are new but, for everyone's sake, please pay attention to chat.

"Medica 2 only" WHM

Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, I landed in Ramuh HM as PLD (started off as OT then had to MT when the other PLD went down) with a newbie WHM who just kept spamming Cure II. Maybe the occasional Cure. Spent a good amount of time spamming Cure II in Cleric Stance too. Then eventually ran out of MP. Didn't respond when I suggested just putting Regen and Medica II on me.

How is WHM such a difficult job to learn? The best part is when healers like these decide to blame others for taking too much damage. Uh, no, if you're spamming Cure II/Benefic II/Adloquium and nothing else, you have only yourself to blame for running out of MP.

Just before work i saw my g/f ina AV run, some how pople face (or intentionally) pulled more mobs. they get to the first boss and g/f asked if ppl knew the fight people claimed they did.

So she tanks the fight, and ppl get fruit @ 2 stack, things go normal. during the second set of 2 stacks my g/f goes to her fruit, and somehow I guess taking an alternate right runs behind my g/f and gets nailed by its cleave. Then starts to blame my g/f for for their death, stating she turned the boss, turned it to the party. My g/f didn't move any turning was her getting her fruit. Which is in no direction the monk should be going in. She done this fight TONS, and know how to take it.

My g/f didn't want to argue and left. She ask how it was her fault and told the mnk the truth. Monk just seemed to want to blame my g/f instead of seeing it as their fault.

Yeah, It's a thing...
Had a Sohm HM run with my friend tanking, we had a i270 nin and a Flower DRG. He knew I could keep him up fine so he pulled ALL THE THINGS!!!
Next thing I see the NINs health dropping fast, heal, drop, heal, drop heal. This went on for the whole run.
At the end my friend leaves instantly as its 4am. Then the NIN starts going on a tiraid about how the tank was moving so much he couldn't see AoEs (despite that not being the case, and he was getting hit in boss fights)
Our DRG however. Aside from Room Wide blasts, Never had to heal her.
