I had built a close friendship with Yda just to find out she was killed (by SE) six years ago, sadly convenient for her (now) younger sister Lyse, it's really sad to learn the news but of course, it had to be done in order to open the path to Stormblood!...

One good thing though, is that Yda, now Lyse, turned out to be the dancing Monk from the Stormblood trailer, I was always right, even though many did not believe it because of her tattoo, everything makes sense now!...

I don't think you have to hide anything in this thread, specifically designated for spoilers of this patch. If someone wanders in here and gets spoiled it's their own fault.

I have to agree that I think Gosetsu is a hyur with a Roe skeleton, like Nero has an elezen skeleton. Gosetsu is freaking HILARIOUS. His introduction was amazing. I was left in stitches XD

I also agree that the ending was kind of lack-luster. I had hoped for something more impactful. Like others have said, the only really good part was the Shinryu VS Omega fight. That being said, I'm super excited for Stormblood, and can't wait to play it!!

I find it interesting that Nero has somehow wormed his way slightly into the Scions. He's not a member by any means, but he's now working alongside us, which I find intriguing. What could his goals be? Could he try to get back in with the Empire?

The thing is you never build a close friendship with Yda. The WoL never met Yda. Though its hard to be sure with how FF14 handles its timeline, Yda since 1.0. has been Lyse. Same person, different name.

It was Lyse who fought with you to save the Scions from capture in Mor Dhona, it was Lyse who travelled to met the Sylphs with you, it was Lyse who mourned Meonbryda's death and it was Lyse who stayed back to cover your escape. Yda has always been Lyse. She just hid behind her sister's name and identity because she couldn't let go and because she wanted to live up to her sister.

To the WoL the only difference is the name. It's always been Lyse. She just gave you a false name.

They never threw out Yda because Yda was never part of our Journey. All we have is a friend who is finally ready to live by her own name.

I am pretty certain he is a Roe. Look at the nose. He has the same facial structure as a Roe. That said, it is quite possible he belongs to a third clan of Roes. We know there exists a third Au Ra clan somewhere and considering the size of the planet, having clans that don't match the playable clans would be likely.

he could be just a Orthand ethnicity of Roe as the geography of Orthand is different after all thus different environmental exposer for their ethnicity to dvelop differently.

ya my g/f was laughing her butt off during the CS. She stated it was like watching kabuki theater.


Imo they did a good job ending, it is bringing us to Ala mhigo and doma. People woulda complained very a ARR ending more so if they did another steps of faith.

I think he's still with Garlean, but would be seen as a deserter. He is the last of the 14th legion. He is trying to "out do" Cid, he has a 1 sided obsession with cid trying to be the best.

1.0 time line is Iffy, as my g/f showed me we watch a 15 year span via echos that take up most the 1.0 opening story. Yda is part of those echos as well so we can't bee 100%. Her mannerisms did change from 1.0> 2.0 >3.0 watch the 1.0 CS it is pretty weird.

Well 2.0 and 3.0 are both definitely Lyse. As for 1.0 its harder to be sure. The Yda from the echo visions would be the actual Yda but what is unclear is wether Lyse took over her sister's identity before the events leading up to the calamity or afterward.

ya that's why its a bit weird. 1.0 from what my g/f said and I saw in CS on yt... was weird.

odd because if you pick grid in 2.0 and ley yda talk you hear about the airship crash. Yet that was an echo. 0_0;
