first and foremost, yes a friend did make it for her, second I think you need to start realizing coincidences do happen, the character creator is limited after all, and finally the one who has such a problem with it now DOESNT look like that anymore so... Funny, you are the most dramatic one posting about it thus far. Awfully defensive. When Iromi posted her Miqo'te it was after Clover's had already been in this thread. Iromi said herself that she was back to Miqo'te with a design made by a friend.

Given how many people play this game its not really surprising there are clones running around. I rarely post on the forum and I've found 3 clones of me on my world and seen several more on other worlds just from their posts on the forums. Add in the fact that creation options are on the small side, that only increases the chance of there being a clone.

Furthermore there's no evidence that she actually tried to copy you. There isn't even proof your character was here first or even that she knew of you. You post as if everyone should be familiar with you and/or your character but I don't remember seeing your character before today. While not conclusive, Iromi's join date is before yours, this at least implies her account and possibly her character were here first.

I don't know who copied who or even that there was an intentional copy but it seems to me like this was just a case of limited options and similar tastes for characters. I assume you have a lot invested into your character but calling her disrespectful for this and being angry over it is a bit much.

Clones naturally exist. I have a few myself though even then they are never exact matches and my characters are quite simplistic by comparison with very few distinguishing features, it's absurd to assume people stole "my design", you are right. Though it's delusional to believe in the worse-than-lottery like chances that all of those critical details were conveniently coincidental as in the case with a character like K'mih who has a lot of variety going on.

Clover never implied that she was well-known or popular or anything of the sort and I should know well since she hates that kind of attention and would sooner shy away from it, but given her activity with posting screens it's natural to assume the design was mirrored. As for the "who was first" matter, K'mih finalised her appearance in December 2013 when the hairstyle was released as per here. Meanwhile, Iromi Fantasia'd a month ago.

Lastly, Clover expressed what was at best a discomforted and unhappy tone, if anything it was I who worded myself in a manner that sounded agitated. I'd rather people not make exaggerated accusations just because she made one post to express herself x_x

I understand that you want to defend your friend but can you at least have the common decency to express your opinion without being obnoxious? Everything was relatively civilised until now and it would be nice to keep it that way, as much as I hate the idea of further derailing the topic...

Her characters, not unlike mine, don't have a ton of classes levelled on them. She levels one job per character so she has a different aesthetic for each Job. K'mih just happens to be her Warrior. It's barely even related to RP. It makes the game less monotonus and more interesting.

And for the record, not one person in the topic asked or even suggested she change her character. The only thing even vaguely close to that was me making a remark that if she actually decided to do something like that on her own then I would happily pay for it as a gesture of goodwill, since I'd appreciate her consideration.

Clover & Kaelah do not even know each other. I am her 'friend' in his instance and my only contact with either of them was both this post and the last. I didn't say a word until now because I didn't want Iromi to feel 'ganged up on' despite sharing the same sentiment as Clover. Zaine is getting very carried away, unfortunately ;

While maybe it's not my place to say it, can we all leave it there? The hyur thread already had a drama of it's own and I don't want to see people getting frustrated over the same thing happening here.

Are you guys seriously suggesting that Iromi's Miqo'te was made exactly the same by chance? Same face, eyes, lips, mouth, hair, skin tone, face paint and colour of all of those things a coinsidence? Believable in XI perhaps, but here, even with our limited character creation that is just far too many variables to be chance. Either way, not cool to claim originality.

I don't know Iromi and I don't know Clover or Knahli. So my view on this is objective and not based on any emotion just to be clear.

No matter how statistically unlikely it is. It is STILL possible someone could end up designing a character exactly like someone else. Due to random choices, similar personal tastes in aesthetics, or just even randomizing it.

You can't just accuse someone of doing something without proof, no matter how likely you personally think it is that they did indeed do the thing you are accusing them of...you need proof or admission of guilt :/

No one can claim originality for any character designed by SE's FFXIV character creator. Not me, not you, not Clover, not Knahli, not Iromi. So that point is moot.

Edit: and to be bluntly honest if it is true that people are messaging Iromi (not saying you are Kaelah, just in general) to try to get her to change that is crossing over to bullying to get someone to do something you want and isn't cool....the FFXIV game has no rules about the character creator where you can't use certain options if others used them first...so you can't try to harass someone into following your own personal rules.

I do still question why drama would arise on the matter if the people in question are on different servers. It is not very likely they would ever physically see eachother. Impossible if they dont even share a data center. That part still confuses me. I suppose there is a hint of pride at work?

Please don't worry, your opinion was very valid and I understood you were trying to be fair and objective. I'd never condemn that ^^a That said, what started with a comment got really out of hand. Clover only made that one post in the beginning and it was of a very calm tone in my opinion so I don't think anyone foresaw this. As riled as I am about the comment above, I still would rather everyone forget about this and just move on. There's no sense spoiling everyone's topic ;
