That's simple, too:
Because people think that this will make the idea more likely to be implemented, as the company can make extra profits off whatever the respective feature is, thereby making it more appealing to the company. It's a signal to the company:"You can make $ with my idea, so it's in your best interest to implement it." It's a response to the inner question of:"Why should the company do it if I don't pay them more for it?" Not the best response in a world where consumers have to constantly fight for their rights, but hey, you just wanted an explanation!
Coupled with that is the fact that some people simply have a lot of spare money and don't mind using it for virtual vanity, so they don't care about the extra price. I probably wouldn't care either if I got 40 grand a month. One man's peanuts are another mans living.
Lastly, people are simply used to it by now.
I already paid the company 500+dollar for subscription, so has many other who played since launch - those who played since 1.x, paid even more....so they are already making shit-tonnes of money...
The budget for SB was supposedly 2-3x higher than HW, so if they need money from mogstation, to give them incentive to add stuff, they are doing it wrong.
Besides isn't most/all LB, already job specific?
While i wouldn't mind more options, i highly doubt they will add more options, even with mogstation - they'd need to at least double the amount of LBs, and add more for new jobs, and that would be far down on priority list.
I wouldn't pay for it, but would like the LB1 of MNK, DRG, NIN, LB2 of MCH, BRD, and LB3 of MNK changed to something more original.
No. because that's the kind of thing that makes kikoolol spam braindeadly their LB with no purpose just for the effect.
Modern gamers apparently prefer playing their credit card over playing the game. They still want to look like they've played the game though, so they buy the dressup stuff. I'm confused by the OP's suggestion, though, since you can't acquire LB3 while roleplaying in town. You have to fight bosses. I thought that was disabled on Balmung.
P.S. Hey Balmung, stop wasting all the questions at Fanfest on your stupid glamour and housing stuff.
