I am terrible at drawing, and not really good at designing stuff... But then I see a travesty like this in the finalists, I see the bar is practically non-existent.
But overall, there are some good ones there that I wouldn't mind seeing in-game.

These were my entries. I don't know how the judging system works but I really though I had a chance with my chocobo getup.
But honestly, I'm really upset that many entries were snubbed for the motchi one. Don't get me wrong, my beef is not with the artist - I think from the motchi entry we have all been Meme'd by Squeenix.
I actually really liked this one because it reminds me of Raven's outfit from Gravity Rush but with a bit of Horizon Zero Dawn thrown in.

People really need to create these things on a model that's at least somewhat close to our in-game models, otherwise it won't translate into the game like people want it, much like in the hairstyle contest.
There were a lot of good entries, but a lot of them were done in a style that differs too much from the game's, and there's no telling how it would actually look within the game.
The amateur artists actually do a pretty great job of sticking to the mold, but the more talented sort tend to be more flagrant with their own style.
While i wasn't a huge fan of this guy's design, i like how just shopped it over a picture of actual in-game characters to give us the best idea of how it would appear.

Eh, I tried, here is my entry that didn't make it in at all.
Ah well... perhaps it didn't fit too well, and I am not very professional in art. I'm happy I was allowed to participate though.

I like a decent amount of the entries, but I have to admit a majority of them do look too female oriented. I think the better entries are the ones that incorporate a male and female model. But sometimes the outfits look too drastic to be a single item, similar to the makai armour we have from the Garo event.
Anyways, since most people are sharing their entries I guess I can show mine, admittedly i procrastinated, so I had to rush, and make it a bit more simplistic, but I had fun, XD, lol.
Caster
Healer

My 5 favorite designs for each category (minus my design):
Caster
Healer
The mistake that most of the ppl do is that they make a gear for a male and a version for the female, doing minor changes and that, but the idea is to make a single gear that can look good in two genders, like the odin gear, the model adapts to the character gender model.
I guess.
I have a bittersweet taste with my design since I wanted to add more details or coloring but the time was against me, but anyways I decided to send the entry anyways.
I'm meh on all of the caster gear sets but I really love the nurse set for healers.
The mochi reminds me of the time SE had a big contest for a new FF X-2 dressphere and the winning entry was designed by an 8 year old
Even though the drawing wasn't a masterpiece the actual designs were interesting.

I feel like this gear will look good on females and especially males.
Having a little armour on healer gear would be cool for once.
