Suggestions: Housing wait list

Waiting lists wouldn't fix the housing issue. In fact they would make it worse because you would have to be lucky enough for a plot to become free, have the money AND be first in the waiting list. Never mind how long that list would be. You could be on it for YEARS before you're first in line. At least now if you have the cash and you're the first to spot a free plot, you can go get it.

SE either need to add at least ten times the amount of wards there are now or do a complete overhaul of the housing system. The amount of plots available per player on even the least populated servers is appalling.

Let me guess, you or your fc has housing right? Perhaps if you don't like this suggestion you come up with real solutions to all the housing problems. No I don't think this idea wouldn't fix the entire problem but it's a start. Which is why I asked under what terms. Also if I remember correctly that is yoshi said some time ago houses were meant for end gamers not everyone but yet I see people with green leafs by their name with housing & I see end gamers with no housing. Its no wonder nothing has been fixed with housing when everyone in these forums just disagree's with each other & nothing gets resolved, smh.

There have been plenty of suggestions across multiple threads in this forum. No need to get hostile over it. I can see where the suggestion comes from, however I can also see some problems with it. How long when a house becomes available does the list wait for the person who's at the top to claim it? Does the list account for choice of location, size, preferred plot? How does the upcoming move function interact with the list? The list seems fair, but anyone that doesn't get on it the first day likely will never have a chance at seeing a house. Imagine being 12,384 in line and after months of waiting check to see you're 12205 in line, that's discouraging.

The reason for this is inflation. They never adjusted the housing prices after introducing housing to the game but since then gil has lost more and more value. My FC bought a middle-sized house about three months after they release housing. We had pretty much free choice of ward and plot (and actually ruled three wards out because they were empty and we wanted neighbours). Me and my friend spend those three months crafting 3-4 hours each day. When an item sold for more than 40k it was amazing. Today I wouldnt even put up something for that price because its not worth it.
The game added more and more means for people to earn gil, even without endgame-crafting, that its really no surprise that someone with a leaf has the 3-4 million to buy a small house. That someone with a leaf was able to get a house but someone whos at endgame did not most likely shows were the dedication of those two people are...

If you're asking me: They need to adjust the prices of the houses to reflect the current value of gil in the game - 20 million for a small house would make it more endgame again. But I guess a lot of people would be upset about that too...

Everyone I know who has a house, fc or personal, has it because there was no waiting list. They had the cash, were at the right place right time, and got the plot. It's a horrible system and I utterly despise it. OP's suggestion just adds another layer of unfairness to it. I don't disagree with it because I have a house, I disagree with it because it's an awful suggestion. It does nothing to fix the actual issue: there aren't enough houses.

I have been playing about 11 months. About 6 months ago, I was able to buy a small house for 5 mil. Then I recently demolished it and bought a medium after about a month of constantly keeping watch on the plots. I am not on a huge server so I imagine that helps. I suggest perhaps changing to a smaller server if you are into housing. Unfortunately, this cheesy game doesn't allow you to take your house with you upon moving. First MMO I have played that is a bad.

You're right that we don't have enough housing. However, some of us can't be on 24/7 to check for a house to pop up. When I'm on, I check every hour that I can to find something, but no such luck. So what chance do I have of getting a house without a waiting list and no new houses any time soon? Of course, if SE decide to make a lot more houses, this won't be needed, but I'd rather have this than nothing.

Your own suggestion would screw you over. Waiting lists are almost always based on first come first served, and you only get bumped up for something like health reasons or if you since had a child. Obviously those reasons would not apply to the game at all so most likely you would only get bumped up if someone gives up their spot. You have just said you cannot play 24/7 so chances are you will be unable to log in early on the day waiting lists are introduced.

No we need a complete overhaul or a significantly immense addition of wards. Not something else on top of an already broken system.
