Love how everyone is trying to turn the "limitations" comment around on PC in this thread. We can literally go to a store, or jump on Newegg or amazon and upgrade our system in minutes at any time, its not like devs are waiting 11 years for the newest PC technology to come out and become obsolete enough that they do not have to work around it anymore
lol come on
Heck I don't even know anyone under the age of 60 who games even casually who still has a 32 bit system.
Are you kidding me, it is ALWAYS the PC crowd that bashes consoles normally....Love how everyone is trying to turn the "limitations" comment around on PC in this thread. Myself i do not care about the system as i simply enjoy gaming.
When the entire purpose of a thread is to band together and bully a constantly-scapegoated part of the community, an aggressive response from someone with a functioning conscience shouldn't be altogether unexpected.
You might not know a very diverse group of people, but Yoshida has actual statistics about the breakdown of players and he's the one going up on stage and begging PC users to stop limiting the game's growth. He's the one giving interviews explaining that PS4 features are being held back so PC shortcomings can be worked around. Yet nobody here is saying PCs suck, they're simply defending themselves (and one another) against a completely unwarranted attack on our right to play and support the game.
When you make a game so incredible that I'm happy to switch platforms to play it, I'll listen to you instead of Yoshida, ok?

Maybe I had not correctly worded my things. Didn't spent anything on pc and kept the one I have, and bought the ps4. Yes a gaming rig is overkill for xiv and with around 500 bucks I can make one of my own that will run next expansion fine.
I just made the decision to buy the ps4 for gaming, and keep the pc I have for everything else. Grand total 200 bucks. A deal to me.
And I've had to spend $900USD twice to keep my computer upgraded (well more than one computer, but we'll use one for the sake of argument) to play a few other MMOs over the last 16 years. It happens.I have friends in Peru and Costa Rica who aren't going to be able to play anymore because the PS3 is being dropped and new consoles cost extraordinarily more for them to buy (Peruvian friend told me $800 USD for a PS4 for him) locally. People from poorer countries are going to be hit the hardest by this.
Those from 'poorer' countries probably need to take another look at their priorities compared to playing video games. Such as taking actions to affect their political situations so they can get rid of tariffs and improve shipping conditions to lower costs.
New! From the creators of Daddy of Light, we bring you: Daddy of Politics! A 10 year campaign to bring PS4 prices down just in time for PS4 support to be dropped. Please look forward to it!And I've had to spend $900USD twice to keep my computer upgraded (well more than one computer, but we'll use one for the sake of argument) to play a few other MMOs over the last 16 years. "Ul'dah can keep their dusty markets, and their streets paved in silver and gold.
Limsa Lominsa keep your pirates, and your ships covered in musty mold.
My loyalty lies with Gridania, with the Moogles and the tree spirits of old." -The Forky Conjurer
Sure, let's tell all the people too poor to spend $900 on hardware to leave and go overthrow their governments until their countries become exact clones of the USA and they deserve to play games, because if the game's team is too small to release texture packs now I'm sure losing subscribers will fix that. Plus the PC gamers who leave when their friends do, further draining income.
I'm from a wealthy country and in spite of that PC/PS4 upgrades cost substantially more than the USD prices being thrown around in this thread here. Some people have absolutely no idea how easy they have it. We're not here to pontificate about revolutionising world politics we don't understand from atop our high horses, we're here to try to play a fun game together!
Wow...that is um...what? It's not that easy...and furthermore you don't know anything about these people and their lives. Also that is not how things work...:xAnd I've had to spend $900USD twice to keep my computer upgraded (well more than one computer, but we'll use one for the sake of argument) to play a few other MMOs over the last 16 years.
