It really has become absolutely ridiculous. I think a large part of the problem is that people are too concerned with how others are playing and constantly worried that "omg I might be carrying someone, my fun is ruined." People are gonna play how they wanna play and they are only making themselves miserable if they are gonna get all worked up over healers not trying to be pseudo dps.
no content is designed for healers to dps, the dev team stated multiple times healer dps isn't taken into account when tuning content.
People seem to only rag on tank and healers for not doing more... even though the dps role belong to the dps. If runs are slow, dps fault.

So much this. \o/ I take a lot of pride in optimizing my openers and being the mob-melting machine of the party. It annoys me when people get on the healer (or the tank, to a lesser degree) about DPSing when I so often see my paired DD farting around doing who-knows-what - not killing things, that's for sure. It's bloody painful when I can visually see how much slower their targets are dying compared to mine (and I'm not even that good, :/ Don't have top gear, or the time to devote to it, but I still read guides and practiced the strats in them).no content is designed for healers to dps, the dev team stated multiple times healer dps isn't taken into account when tuning content.

If runs are going slow, I think people are barking up the wrong tree with healers. As over-geared as a lot of us are, there's no darn reason things should be dying slowly even if it's just 2 of us killing them.

I saw my g/f do library story mode. And a drg in the group made the run slow. She was tank/dpsing best she could, the other dps was dpsing, as well as the healer. The drg would wait there not attacking/auto attacking till that dragon jump dive skill is ready, the one that does the fire explosion (i forget the skill name atm), other times he would run ahead and pull mobs. During the demon book fight he waiting till last min to run behind the book before doing 1 hit kills blaming the ice. Each time dying to get the in 1 more shot.So much this. \o/ I take a lot of pride in optimizing my openers and being the mob-melting machine of the party. What i notice in dungeon runs is dps don't attack the same mob. People seem to think they should solo kill 1 mob, and to me that looks like they are trying to artifically inflate their parse. I saw this happen in dcuo when a parser was added. If you attack the same mobs, or time your aoes well, mobs should die fast with only the dps, dpsing.
Also no matter how much heal intensive you make a dungeon. Healers will be forced to dps just to kill stuff faster.
What i forgot to add, was when my g/f sees her hp bar @ 50% hp or less she starts to get anxiety which makes her fuck up. It is basic fight or flight. She has enouh anxiety from her ASD. Idm healers who choose to dps. but on;y do it if people are 70% or more. Not do wait till last min and use a big cure.
right before i was forced to take a break due to loss of work, a dude told me and my g/f that a healer only needs to keep a person @ 1% to prevent death, any more then that is over healing.
Funny thing, my g/f recently had runs with over healers... people who would spam heals @ 90% and the runs were not as slow as the 1 with the above drg.

And? They do damage? Yes. Mobs die? Die. Who say that they need to improve? I am sure they like their play style and feel themselves comfortable.
Also, one day ago I saw summoner who did not use aetherflow and bane, energy drain, etc. He only spammed ruin on one target... Could I blame him? Of course not. We still beat the dungeon. Who cares that we spent 40 minutes on this duty. Healer was not DPSing too, of course.
it was the smn fault not the healers. And people don't care about dps.. unless the dps is coming from tank or healer. And? They do damage? Yes. Mobs die? Die. Who say that they need to improve? I am sure they like their play style and feel themselves comfortable.

the dps clases are built with damage in mind. Get on their butts for it and have them focus down mobs. Not artificially inflate their dps by killing mobs solo.
No one seems to rag on dps to dps... yet it always the tank or healer who are in the wrong for not doing extra.
We do. But dps are cry babies too. "Try hard. It's my sub!"it was the smn fault not the healers. And people don't care about dps.. unless the dps is coming from tank or healer.

Plus it's harder to call them out unless you prove it with numbers (bannable) there are threads about dps being kicked for low dps. Dps are bad i say something.

Why not? :/ You could and should blame them. :P Why do they get the free pass? DPS is their main job, \o/ Their only job really. Instead of whining at the healer/tank, people need to get on their case more. You see it all, NIN that mostly auto-attack and just mash random skills, BLM that spam thunder and sleep spells with no regard to any rotation. :S Also SMNs that put up DoTs and just let the pet do the rest on auto. -_-;And? (I sincerely hope you're being sarcastic, but I've spoken with enough people in forums to not make assumptions anymore).
