Has anyone else noticed Yoshi's attatude at PAX?

I suspect he's simply worn out. People ask the same questions he cannot or will not answer over and over. Even setting aside the weapon controversy, Diadem has not exactly been well received. Couple all that with probable stress in developing Stormblood and I'd be surprised if he wasn't tired.

The only problem I have with Yoshi is that he says a lot and then never mentions something ever again. dodging questions with uber evasion bonuses, no matter how often it's asked about.

I would rather he be more honest and say, "well we tried to do it but we just couldn't make it work, but we are working on this." rather than just act like he never said it. I think that's why he says a lot of "I cant talk about it" now instead. It's easier to just not say anything then create a dialog.

I live in the NA and even I tire of the NA community. I can't imagine how it feels for devs from across the ocean to try to appease the whiney, entitled player base over here. I give them credit for doing the job they have done under such circumstances.

He is pretty worn out with working on this game. He's mentioned before that he'd like to just be a director for it and find another producer, and that he doesn't get payed much more for being producer and director on the project even though it is significantly more work. Also keep in mind that a normal office job in Japan will have you showing up at 8AM and going home at 10PM 6 days a week. I'd imagine he's more than a little burned out right now.

Some Jobs don't even allow you to go home for example my friend is a film director for the TV network NHK in Japan and she sleep over at the studio because of how much work she has to do. People in Japan take there work very seriously in Japan. They don't know how to truely rest when they have to.

It is because the i280 drama is such a kneejerk reaction which does contradict what people claim they want. "Why add in new content if the gear isn't any better than the older content?" . . . ok so this time a weapon will be the best you can get from this content. "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS!" and it's like. Wait a minute, but I thought people wanted new content that had better gear in it, but now that we've added these weapons you are going to tell me it's wrong and complain about it? If I was Yoshi I'd be irritated to because he's starting to see there is no pleasing the masses, if you give something one side wants, they will like it but then the quiet minority will become louder and vice versa.

People who complain are louder than those who don't complain because the ones who are enjoying the content have little reason to give their input but because of that mentality you pretty much see the worse of the worse in terms of negative input over content. Since while the large majority may not care about these i280/enjoy the content, the vocal minority are pulling out their pitchforks and acting as if they are the majority voice.

Another very standard custom in Japan is for the employee to clock out at 5 like they're supposed to for their 9-5 job and to keep working for another 3-6 hours after that. They do not get paid for those extra hours. It's generally looked down upon to go home before management/your boss does.

Regarding the thread so far...

It seems obvious that he's under heavy pressure, and he will choose to continue being the producer or not. Trying to blame his stress on some group of players "not like you" is ridiculous. Every person who constantly whines because the game isn't entirely what they want could be part of the problem, or maybe he is tired for other reasons.

It may get tiring hearing the same questions over and over, yet annoyingly obtuse passion for a game beats lack of interest. His team is crunching for an expansion, so sure, he's tired and he is telling it as he sees it: someone will always complain.

If you are worried, thank him and his team and wish them well. Pretty sure I've seen such threads here that people can join. Or better yet jump into Stormblood hype thread to show you are still interested in his vision for the game. Or give helpful, respectful criticism with the understanding that a lot of what you want won't happen. That's also great support. Better yet, why not all of the above

I feel so badly for him and his team they must be so horribly overworked yet they have to continue all the way through 4.1, I really hope they get a long vacation after.
