Ive been saying the samething sense I started playing the game,They should just make that dungeon single player. I mean it doesn't even make sense to do it with a party, as you get like 8 ppl riding the mount that only your character should know about.
A lot of new players get those two dungeons and leave extremely dissapointed, mainly because the game builds it up to be the finale. Imagine grinding 50 levels thinking this is the end of the story and you get those two trainwrecks...
Even before cross-world you would definitely be able to find at least 1-2 other people to do it on my server, which is one of the very smallest worldwide, at any time of day; now we have cross-world PF and the novice network no decent PF goes unanswered for more than 10 minutes. No matter how timewasting the activity being proposed. Just because the majority of people are self-obsessed speed demons doesn't mean that there isn't a quiet minority of people happy to help others out of a rut.Party Finder does not make this any easier. The likeliness of you finding a group quickly with the warning label of "I want cutscene time" will be slow. If you do not mind waiting and can get a group willing to wait, some friends from FCs and all that then different story. Not all will nor can.
It's not ideal but I feel undersized with cutscenes is an order of magnitude less awful than speedrunning and making the sprouts feel like garbage.
The topic is just about giving sprouts a choice; very few of them realise Party Finder is even an option for the content and instead won't learn the two dungeons suck unless they enter DF and get crushed by them (or get told by a friend). That's awful. Adding a warning message would empower them to decide for themselves whether they want to try doing it 'properly' or risk doing it the crummy way. I cannot see a single negative to the suggestion when it's not doing anything more offensive than imparting knowledge to newcomers.

This would result in new players getting kicked so everyone else can speedrun and get back to /playdead RPing ASAP.......Or have all players locked in place until cutscenes end.
Another possible solution from being locked out is that only if you haven't been in the fight, you can't get locked out. You're only locked out if you leave the fight after you die and you teleport to the beginning and the fight is still going on.
Your consideration of what newbies wants is nice, but I find it better than being kicked out because I were watching the cs on my first run with my first character on my first job. That have happened and I can tell you watching a sequence of cs is much better than being kicked out halfway and requeue, having witnessed the thing on my own skin.
Frankly, calling scumbags who is kicking out people watching cs, is still lenient. If someone wants speedrun on DF and get those duties, just leave and eat penalty. Problem solved.
Someone asked earlier what content we would give up to fix this. I would gladly give up future content that I have not experienced or heard of for a fix to the leveling experience of new people. I just invited a new person to try this game and do you know what I am constantly telling them? I can't join you for that, you have to do it on your own.
That is a problem especially so in an MMO. For the next 60 levels of my friend's gaming experience I will only be able to join him for about 10% of that. The bulk of a new player's experience is doing things by themselves. They occasionally run a dungeon or trial with 4 other people. This doesn't really teach or enforce that this is a group game and that there are other amazing people out there to play with.
Here is what I would love to see happen.
1. Rework all of the MSQ quest lines and remove almost all of the run around quest(especially before Titan) and increase the exp earned. The MSQ alone should provide enough exp to level one job from 1 to 60, and it should not take weeks to accomplish.
2. Rework all of the single player duties scattered among the MSQ and possibly the Class/Job quests and allow them to be completed with up to a full party. We have the scaling technology from PotD to accomplish this.
3. Rework both MSQ dungeons and Cape Westwind to be a little more of a challenge to a party and to replace the cutscenes. Lower the max ilvl so that you cannot mass pull the dungeons and completely ignore mechanics. The cutscenes should be no more than 10 seconds long. Any major story points should be moved to either the beginning or the end of the dungeons. There is also the option to break these up into several smaller dungeons or trials and have them all in the MSQ roulette.
4. Create a true party level sync button. They had this system in FF11 and I do not know why this was not carried over. My level 60 Scholar can run around with my friends level 20 Gladiator in a party all we want, but the moment he agros a monster it links with 5 others. In this case I can easily kill these monsters but his character is going to be overwhelmed and probably die. My presence in the party only hampers his gaming experience. Allow us to sync to any level in the party, up or down, so that we can all share the same experience.
5. Allow all classes/jobs to be access able at character creation. My friend really wanted to play a Dark Knight but wasn't able to, so he settled for Gladiator. Right there, before he has even started the game, was his first disappointment. He liked it even less when I told him he had to get through the entire 2.x story before he could be a Dark Knight.
The devs did a remarkable job saving this game from 1.0 and I applaud them for that, but they made some very critical errors also. Forcing many parts of an MMO into a single player experience is one of them. I know that SE has acknowledged that they made a several mistakes and that they wouldn't make those again, but the mistakes are still present and are still causing problems and will only get worse as the game gets older. Easy solutions like the jump potions look attractive and may eventually be needed but through proper design and implementation I think we can postpone things like that for a while. Lastly, and as I stated before, I would gladly give up some future content or have some content postponed for SE to properly redesign the new player experience.

The section after Ultima and before Ishgard is the WORST. Like 200 quests in that area alone. If they cut that down some it wouldn't be so bad. There's too many pointless quests. Why not just go from point A to point B and be done with it? Even just getting to Ramuh has too much BS. Just cut out stuff that isn't really important to the story.
this please.
I'm the type to wait for people in cs. But not everyone is (shame in that). It can be undersized and be done by 2 people. With my g/fs recent character, we did it just Us me as my smn her as her pld. None of the fights are hard. can can be solo'ed a level 60.
it is 100 and they did. Most of the quests are 5 min quest, they cut out the quests that require you to run guildhests. And put 2 easy quests 2 min quests there instead. My g/f went through it 3 times, and it doesn't take long. Only steps of fate can be a kick in the teeth because people troll it.The section after Ultima and before Ishgard is the WORST. You sure? I could have sworn someone counted and it was closer to 200. Could be wrong though... But still, there are a bunch of pointless ones they could still cut out. Go talk to this person, go talk to that person for a pointless reason, go back to the first person. Maybe it just seems like forever cause I've done it on 4 alts with 2 more to go. I will suggest reconvert the dungeon to a 4 man party. Single player is not good. Why shouldn't the people enjoy a dungeon just because started play later? That's very selfish. Also, reduce the duration of cutscenes. They are terrible long. 4 man party with shorter cutscenes. That should be enough. with 4 man, no one will dare to pull, and will short cutscenes, no on will have to wait too much.
