Good luck trying to get exactly the 280 weapon you want before though. From the several times I've done Emergency Weather fate succesful now, it seems the droprate for those weapons are... rather rare at best and random upon random to boot. You'll most likely be spending the greater amount of time you have until SB before you get the one you want. So if you're not willing to be mentally held hostage like that by the game, I wouldn't suggest losing sleep over it or spending much time being disappointed really. The 280's are not easy to get.

You do know most wouldn't care. As quite a lot of players have all classes to 60. We grind stuff hundreds of times if people want that weapon they will do it instead of all other content at least while its popular.

You guys don't realise that even if the drop rate is low, they just have to do it, again and again and again. The jumbo cactpot happens once a week just like WT, whereas you can do hundred or more diadems a week.

The points of the matter is how fast SE introduced a higher ilv weapon when anima was just updated.

What I find interesting about all the threads talking about this and "how fast" the i275 Anima was outdated with the release of an i280 weapon 9 days after the i275 step was released is... everyone also seems to have forgotten already that this was supposed to be released at the same time as the i275 step. Remember, the only reason we have 3.55b is because of the issue they had with the Diadem for 3.55 causing then to break it up into a and b.

The extremely low dropping, randomly statted i280 weapon isn't meant to replace Anima for everyone, it's supposed to be (and is) a very rare drop that can be an alternative for people who didn't want to grind the Anima or Alex. Now they probably should have made it the same iLvl and weapon damage as the Anima and Alex weapons, but they likely felt that with how rarely it drops and that the drop you get might not even be for your main job, that they needed to make it more of an incentive for people to do the new Diadem and actually care about completing the missions properly.

Still, let us not forget, this isn't them randomly deciding to release this after the fact of releasing the Anima step, this was originally intended to coincide with that step directly and getting a relevant i280 drop is going to be a lot more work than finishing that last laughably easy i275 step.

In an MMO you can have everyting but just doing it "again and again and again". Time is the only meaningful metric in the end.

The array of RNG is determined so that it takes on average more time to obtain an i280 weapon than an i275, bet it the the Anima though grinding of the Creator weapon through skill and practice. In fact, this is the same reason for the Anima 210 stage to requires that many unidentified items and HQ specialist crafted items back then.

Frankly, I think it would be faster to farm a lot of gils and pay a static team to carry you through A12S and give you the weapon, which is already an existing concept.

To all guys saying "its like bla bla bla wondrous trail blabla",you miss the point that the gear on wondrous trail was not the best gear you could have,the savage were 270,and so wondrous were more like a bonus,but there,the fact that the weapon dmg is so high is that,EVEN if you have no secondary stat,that weapon is still better than relic or savage weapon.

And THATS why its insane,if teh weapon were 270 yeah,it would be a good bonus,you have zurvan at 265 and if you do relic,or beat savage you can have 275,but then again,people dont understand that for raider or people who have done their relic from the start,from some years agao,its infuriating taht some with some luck will beat years of relic,or month of traing in savage.

For what seems to be rare, I've seen 4 different jobs weapon images of 280 from ppl that have gotten it and posted online in various media less than 24 hours of patch (not even weekend yet). Do the maths!!! And tell me this is rare? As from this early stages, seems not rare at all and probably much faster rate.

Yes, please do the math. 4 weapons upon how many people, hundreds, thousands that have already joined a Diadem mission since the latest patch ?

It's not really rare. And in actuality takes a lot less work then raid and anima weapons. You can practically be in the Diadem group if it procs, not contribute whatsoever and still get a free 280 weapon. You can argue stat weights all you want but there is really no argument for that +3 WD and the +5 on main stats over the then current highest tier weapons.

People are upset and rightfully so. Players pour a lot of time into something and this to them is a huge slap in the face.

That is what they claimed anyway. It might well be that there never was an issue in the first place and the reason they split them apart is because they anticipated the reaction of the players - After all, there's no point in first upgrading your weapon to i275 if you intend to upgrade it in the Diadem afterwards anyway. You'd go straight into Diadem with whatever you happen to have at the time, whether it's i230, 240, 260, 270 or 275. Anything goes as long as you meet the iLvL requirement.

I've lost enough faith in SE by now that I believe that this supposed "bug" was never a real thing in the first place. I also do not believe that it was meant as an "alternative" for anyone for anything - even with bad stats, it's still best in slot. It's clearly meant to funnel everyone into Diadem hells be damned.
