Force cutscenes (it's like 15m-30m just for cutscenes) there and no one will ever que for those instances outside new players.
IMO any story stuff should had a solo dungeon like for example Blade and Soul.

They could give me a shiny mansion and a free lala slave and I still wouldn't want to repeat 35mins of CS in (prae) every time I go in.
I agree. There will never be a way to get story-watchers and fast runners on the same page. In all the future dungeons they managed it fine... the big cutscenes always appear before and after the group content or are a single-instance. So I think not the overall mechanics have to change, but CM and Prae. Turning them into a 4-players dungeons might work. I have the feeling that a 4-party is a bit more inclined to wait (also because lack of 1 member is more severe than with 8) but then again... being forced to wait while wanting to fast run will result in not participating into those roulettes anymore.
Solo Dungeon is the way to go for that imo
Very easy to fix both Castrums and no need to rework them:
Main issue is what - time waste for older characters. Time waste is approximately 2x to 3x. Lets be generous and say 3x. So we multiply all rewards there by 3x, add group lock for all cutscenes (like the one on dungeon start) and add agressive downscaling to ilvl 42-50 for matched parties (random DF essentially). So one fixed run would count exactly like 3 speedruns, have same rewards and same time to complete. Also block votekick for these 2 duties and add RMT-like ability report aggressive guys from chat.
That's like 1 weeks work for two developers and 1 QA. Only apparently SE is not interested at all in fixing older content, especially with addition of MSQ skip potions. What is the point of fixing stuff that is intended to be skipped.

It's a shame really that you had such experience. I too was locked out of Castrum during the boss fights cause I was watching the cutscenes and the party just went ahead. I scolded them and got bunch of pity commendations ^_^;;
What I suggest is using party finder and mention you want to watch the cutscenes and seek a patient party. I almost guarantee you will get a group. I've seen plenty of those on Primal and they always fill up quickly. I've been part of such myself and everyone seemed nice through my runs.
The playerbase has debated on this for years. There is literally only one good futureproof solution, and that is to turn the two dungeons into a solo instance.
Unfortunately, this solution also requires the most effort to enact, and it's precisely why we'll likely never see it done, despite this and the Lv. 50 MSQ line being THE barriers for new players wondering if they want to seriously invest their time in this game.

The warning message would be great. It would be less discouraging to the sprouts if they realised there was a better way to do the dungeons without the complete trampling of their self respect.
In the meantime, I hereby volunteer openly to take anyone and everyone on my datacenter who needs either of these dungeons through them as a guardian so they can 'solo' them and watch every single cutscene at their leisure. Just make a cross world party finder asking for it, and I'll be there irrespective of your language. We get PFs for Castrum daily and there is no shortage of people happy to join and let people enjoy them properly, so it's really more a matter of informing the newbies that it's an option.
Could be 10x the reward and I still wouldn't want to wait 35 mins every time I go in there. I would rather go do something fun for 50min (35 mins CS 15 mins killing).Very easy to fix both Castrums and no need to rework them:

Also, a lot of players don't have the foresight. We all want newbies / first timers to beat the content and be encouraged to go on the FREAKING long msq journey to get to the end. Because more players at the end means shorter waiting to find groups, more life, more fun.

Just because you wouldn't, doesn't mean there's not plenty out there that would... Never underestimate the power of shineys!
A more apt question is, are you doing the MSQ roulette daily now? and if so, why? and if not, why not?
