One thing people haven't been mentioning is that Diadem v1 ALSO gave obsurdly good gear and invalidated savage (relic wasn't out yet). Diadem was a HUGE reason for the poor clear rates of gordias, as people would just farm diadem to get their gear which was better than savage. PFs were dead, and gordias was seen as a huge failure due to it being much harder to get gear from, and diadem gave better gear anyway. It doesn't matter the rarity, people will just hop off savage to farm diadem now as it is now THE endgame reward. Also, before anyone says "who cares, SB will be out soon", Diadem v1 would have come out 3 months before 3.2 in a normal patch cycle, which would also invalidate the gear.
I am having really weird deja vu of 3.1 days, an unbalanced reward system, hyped up content that turned out to be poor, not much to do, and extended patch cycle, an... diadem. It is a real shame because the game had improved massively since that patch

Both versions of Gordias were the reason Gordias Savage clear rate was so low.
And Diadem v1 could drop better gear than Gordias for every slot. This one can only drop a better weapon, so, again, if you want to have the absolute best stuff, you still need to clear Savage, putting raiders still above non-raiders.
And again, the alternative is "keep farming Creator Savage over and over without anything else to do to progress for 3 more months". People are really crying about having new content to look for...

This guy has it right. Let me further clear the misconception about raiders' """vanity""" for you guys.Raiders don't care about casuals getting this gear, they care about how they are unable to insure everyone can get it. Raiders are only really competitive against other raiders, and this weapon existing upsets any type of fair competition there was amongst themselves, effectively making it a competition of luck. This is the only thing keeping most interested in the game till SB, and with diadem in general being somewhat boring and nothing new to look forward to , it seems many won't resub till SB. Also , acting like they're the only ones annoyed by this ignores the multiple people who aren't raiders yet are upset at the timing of this being released. As many have said if this had been released at a later time not many would have cared nearly as much as they do.
Pre-3.55b: everyone was able to compete on equal grounds when it came to parses in Savage content. Speedkilling was an actual thing for many people.
Post-3.55b: overpowered gear with the potential of a +3WD increase and an absurd amount of sidestats locked behind 4 layers of RNG. People no longer able to compete on equal grounds. A big plunge on the motivation of any serious raid group trying their hands at speedkilling/personal parses. The separation of 3.4-3.55a and 3.55b-> logs.
The raiders don't care if you have similar gear or not, it's been long enough. In fact, a lot of people would be happy to allow more competition by the way of allowing more lenient gearing for Savages. They do care about not being able to trust in the system of equal competition anymore, however..
The raiders don't generally look down on non-raiders as much as you make them out to do.
"Want to compete on equal grounds" =/= "Vanity/Jelly for your weapons"

The first Diadem dropped armor/accessories with ilvl on par with savage gear (i210) with the possibility of rolling higher or lower for secondary stats. Both versions of Gordias were the reason Gordias Savage clear rate was so low.

The current Diadem drops weapons with a greater ilvl than savage/relic weapons (i280 vs i275) with a greater difference than that small ilvl gap would suggest (2 weapon damage melee/3 weapon damage magic + 13 main stat)
For reference, the difference between i240 & i245 is 1 weapon damage and 7 main stat. The difference between i260 and i265 is 0 weapon damage and 6 main stat. i265->i270 is 1 weapon damage and 7 main stat. Same for 270->275 (1 weapon damage, 7 main stat)

Sweet 10 out of 10 looking forward to it... Besides why so salty over i280 weapons in Diadem? SE is a business and they need to keep subs coming in and there is no better way then drop higher Item level gear in Diadem to keep you paying sub.
Besides who cares.... 4.0 drops in just a few months ALL 3.XXgear will be irrelevant by the time we reach level 63 to 65 so why does it matter?
Were numbers invented or discovered? How many Moogles does it take to make Kuponut rum? Answer: zero... They will give you a quest to make it.

So just set up a "No Diadem weapon" category where groups can certify the validity of their logs. The speedrunning community on other games use that kind of categories and verification for years with video proofs.
On that note, how can you assure that some raiders actually don't use hacks of 3rd-party tools to give them an unfair advantage when speedrunning ? Should't you already have some kind of video footage to ensure a fair and proper competition ?
That is to say, the same length of time it took for Creator to be "old" content.

The good thing is, after checking the JP forum it seems like there are far more people outraged about both the fate grindfest and i280 weapon than here, very few people are staying neutral, unlike the NA forums full of people arguing in favor of it.
Since they listen to the JP playerbase more than NA they might give a response.

In other words, let's all bow down to the haters and let the game stagnate.
Is it reset Tuesday yet.
I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.
