The chances of you getting these i280 weapons is stupidly rare, but SE needed something to entice people to actually do the new Diadem. What better way than something they know will "piss off" a group of people that don't stop and consider things. You know, how Wondrous Tails added in HQ gear with 5 slots- if you're ever lucky enough to get 3 lines.

This... doesn't necessarily incentivise raiders though. Plenty have unsubbed completely because it ruined their speed killing challenges and the casual side remains frustrated their relic isn't BiS after only nine days. Couple it all with the fact FFlog had to freeze the previous tier to avoid one grouping dominating due to these weapons and this may well backfire on the devs.
