He understands it.I just want the content to be rewarding and fun with fairly appropriate rewards. FOUR levels of RNG to get a weapon way better than any other currently in the game right now from what is basically an instanced FATE grind is
a) Not fun, fates have been done to death
b) Not rewarding, only frustrating
He doesn't understand it.
Well, there's no reason to be. We aren't the borg or any other collective.
People who are happy with the status quo are going to complain when it's changed, people who aren't are going to complain when it's not changed. That's natural, they even stated such in their own MSQ, you'd hope they read it at some point >_>
What in the actual f..?
Nobody wants the best gear in the game to be given to lazy beggars with no skill. Whether you fight difficult bosses or grind dungeons till your fingers bleed, you should have to WORK for top tier gear.So we get people complaining that the formula never changes...
(Not trying to rag on your post specifically Skivvy, just displaying an opinion many people share.)
...so SE changes the formula and adds content that isn't a raid, a relic or a tome grind and has relevant rewards (so people don't brand it as side content or fluff like they did with Aquapolis, PotD and Gold Saucer). People then get mad because they don't want anything except raids, relics and tomes to be a part of their end game. Uhhh...
No wonder Yoshi-P is sometimes frustrated with our feedback.
Even the game itself shows this, look at those Ala Mhigo punks in Uldah. Nobody likes them.
What do casuals even need a 280 weapon for? Failing to skip soar with 6 dps?
I disagree with there being no point to such things, because as you point out ultimately everything will be rendered obsolete at some point or another anyway. So by the metric of the tangible reward being the only "Point", everything in the game is ultimately pointless. I disagree with that notion. There's a sense of pride to be had, a feeling of genuine accomplishment, for working at something the hard way and succeeding the "Right" way. But all the same, it is nice for there to be a tangible reward for that effort, and I can understand why people are thus upset at these apparently being rendered obsolete "Too Soon" by their perceptions, in favor of something far easier to acquire. It's inevitable, yes, but the timing kind of stings.Honey, if you haven't figured out how things work in this game...must be new. I've figured it out way back when things where ilevel 70. Everything is obsolescence, hence why I personally never bothered with EX nor savage. Not because I wasn't good, because there was no point in it.
Oh well, at least there's still the exclusive mounts?
It does. You could literally get no secondaries whatsoever and the 280 weapons murder everything else. Considering Diadem also lacks the loot restrictions Dun Scaith does, there's little reason to bother running it (DS) more than once a week now.
After finishing two Anima weapons and finishing up the sand step on a third I'm kinda upset. What the heck made them think this was a good idea? What were they smoking? What ever it was I want some cause it's clearly the good stuff.
To be fair, if you'd the absolutely worst possible rolls (full on acc/skill speed), it would be still be slightly (perfect relic secondaries are about 70 stat weight, Diadem weapons +2WD/+13STR plus worst possible rolls for you would still be 68) worse than your relic. The chances of that happening are pretty low though.
I mean I feel you, it's been a slap to the face the previous week for me since I didn't grind the relic on my NIN, so when it appeared to be better than what I've been grinding nearly 8 weeks of A12S for, I was slightly pissed. The difference was miniscule though and people had to suffer through a somewhat long grind for it, so whatever.
But this is about 3-4 layers of RNG put on top of each other to get your BiS weapon just a week after they've added the previous one. It does feel really silly.
Ok, that's it. I think I'm finally done.
