Because +2 and +13 are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo big an increase over current gear that it INVALIDATES EVERYTHING.
Get a grip, this is a minimal, vanishingly small increase that only hardcore min/maxers care about.
You didn't get BiS ANYTHING from PotD. Just rare and expensive glamour items.Well, after everyone called PotD a success...any surprise? Whether there's a silver chest is random, whether the chest explodes is random, whether it upgrades if it doesn't explode is random, whether it upgrades the right thing is random, whether you have a hoard on your floor is random, whether you get a pomander of intuition to see it is random, what's INSIDE the hoard is random... and I'm just listing the rewards of RNG hell here, the trap/floor baggage goes extra.
They have heard your feedback and put more RNG up! Please be satisfied.
This is a huge middle finger to raiders and an even bigger one to relic grinders. What was the point of either if they're just gonna hand out better gear to lazy, skillless players?
It actually is. As a drg, I could get one with Parry and Spell Speed and it would still invalidate my relic by sheer weapon damage and main stat boost alone.

You can't deny that it's a pretty good incentive to do this new content
Don't worry raiders, Creator Savage still drops BiS armor. Actually, it's a pretty good idea. Make raids only drop best armor and accessories, while trials and additional content drop best weapons. And please, please, keep tome gear lower than the best gear.

...so SE changes the formula and adds content that isn't a raid, a relic or a tome grind and has relevant rewards (so people don't brand it as side content or fluff like they did with Aquapolis, PotD and Gold Saucer). People then get mad because they don't want anything except raids, relics and tomes to be a part of their end game. Uhhh...Every MMO of course has it's gear grind once you hit endgame, but in my opinion, XIV fails miserably at making it feel fresh and diverse.
For quite awhile, the pattern has been 2 new dungeons, a new raid, new coil/alex level. Each dungeon has the same formula - trash - boss - trash - boss - trash - boss. Each raid has a near-identical pattern too. PotD mixed things up a bit (thank you Nyzul and Salvage!), but for the majority of content, it's all just rehashed each patch.
I'd like to pretend to be optimistic about Stormblood, but so far they haven't shown that they're willing to stray too far from their comfort zone.
No wonder Yoshi-P is sometimes frustrated with our feedback.![]()

To compensate they should change alex weapons and relics to ilvl 290 or something.
Honey, if you haven't figured out how things work in this game...must be new. I've figured it out way back when things where ilevel 70. Everything is obsolescence, hence why I personally never bothered with EX nor savage. Not because I wasn't good, because there was no point in it.Why even try hard to be good at the game when you just get handed top level **** randomly? I just want my accomplishments to feel like something ;_;
Catch-up mechs are fine but this is some next level shenanigans. You can't even get gobdip for shire yet and they drop this diadem stuff on us.

I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.
It's +3 Weapon Damage, +4 Primary Stat, and +10 Health. Which yeah, might seem like insignificant numbers, but they do make a noticeable difference. What's really getting people though is up to almost 100 extra secondary stat points compared to the 275 contemporaries.
I just want the content to be rewarding and fun with fairly appropriate rewards. FOUR levels of RNG to get a weapon way better than any other currently in the game right now from what is basically an instanced FATE grind isSo we get people complaining that the formula never changes...

b) Not rewarding, only frustrating
I wonder if other higher level items will come out between now and Storm Blood release.
