Soo... apparently Diadem has i280 weapons with higher WD than alexandrian/anima lux

True, in the longterm the anima was always just going to be neat glamour that might save us a small hassle when starting the next relic.

Well the point is that if stuff like this is real, it just craps on everyone doing progress still or just recently finished. When expansion or new raid tier is officially released, its one thing to have your hard earned gear replaced. But to drop something like this, mid cycle and on some side fluff content, is just a slap in the face. A lot of diadem stuff previously was broken and diadem 2.0 has not sounded much different, lol. Guess we'll see.

"Mid cycle" ? It's been 5 1/2 months since 3.4.
People still progressing? They'd probably appreciate / need the upgrade to clear.
People that recently cleared? Well, consider it an achievement that you cleared without Diadem updates!

People still progress for various reason. Some can't build a static, some took a break and just returned, some just pug... not everything is tied to performance.
Wasn't necessarily talking about savage progression as much as I was talking about people doing relics.

With some of the mentality around here of "well its just going to be replaced in stormblood anyway" you would get the impression that theres not point to even play the game at all if everything is eventually replaced.

Not so much replaced as built on top of.

Everything in this game and even the game itself is ultimately dated. We pay for having a ever-expanding world by having once highly sought after gear eventually become defunct.

You can't really consider those people... as.. people can return at any point of the game..
General cycle is about 6 months, so should probably consider the cycle to be near it's end and and Alex Savage being unlocked soon.
And what other progression is there besides savage really? I'm still on umbrite for my relic personally lul
that kind of progression is not gonna go away, despite being outdated now, but relic/anima is always only up to date for a short time anyway.

And yea! i guess you could just quit and stop and come back and not miss out on much progression-wise.
But that is also a given at any even numbered patch anyway. Just buy new gear, done.
You could do alex savage in 250 gear, and it's the hardest content.
