I've noticed the same thing. I don't know if it's causation or correlation, but the quality of players have gotten worse since potd's release. It's like people have collectively stopped giving a crap.

Oh god, this could have been me. But not, since I was lvl 7, lmao. First run of floor 51. I wanted to go in as my SMN main, but the two people I was queuing with were like, "No! This is a leveling party! Bring the melee you wanted to level." Tried to explain I wasn't going to be one of those idiots that brings a class they have no idea how to play, but they weren't taking no for an answer. :/ Sure enough, I feel completely incompetent. It's going too fast for me to read my skills and figure out the combos I want out of them. So there I am, level 60 PUG, and all I know is the 3 button combo you have in the beginning. -_-;; I wanted to smack them, I was such a dead weight for that run.A friend and I went into PotD 51-60 and got paired with a puglist. When I took a closer look, the actual level of that puglist was 1 (ofc, the palace puts you on level 60). So that person basically just went from the puglist-guilde in Ul'dah to south shroud, queued for PotD and got pushed to level 60 - meaning: they got 20 skills or so dumped into their hotbar and NO idea what any of them do or how to play that class. snip

I need some help deciphering the thought process of these people. "I know nothing about Sophia EX, I don't speak the same language as these people, I haven't cleared this, so let's just join this random party that I can't understand at all, and don't even bother watching a guide."
I know I'm assuming a lot here, but just what are these people thinking? That randomly jumping into a party, hiding your bonus, is going to make up for your clear lack of experience with the fight? What did they think would happen, that everyone would just carry them? How does this make any sense at all? Do they even understand the consequences of this train of thought?
players level up fast
mobs die fast no need or ability to learn or even pull off a proper rotation.
No gear required
no class quests required so they cant even access job moves
Basically players level up faster, learn nothing, then hop into dungeons. I've posted multiple stories about people I've come across in this thread. Pretty sure most of them are from potd.
I'm not saying it's not fun. I like running it. But it's not a proper learning environment
I'm guessing something like "Nobody will know about my bonus because someone else has one. It's probably not much different than Sophia HM so I'll just bluff my way through mechanics and get a free carry (and maybe a bird!). I can't be bothered to read which languages are set and/or I can use the language barrier to explain away my inability to answer any questions about the strategy." And they might have gotten away with it were it not for the fact that four people did it at once to the same party.I need some help deciphering the thought process of these people. "I know nothing about Sophia EX, I don't speak the same language as these people, I haven't cleared this, so let's just join this random party that I can't understand at all, and don't even bother watching a guide."

And my friends all seem to wonder why I have no faith at all in PF.

What they gain in levels in PotD is taken away when they leave. If they learned nothing and didn't take the time to read the tool tips when they learned the skill, then they were never going to try.players level up fast

Boss fights after Floor 49.
Would you really want level-ilevel to play a part in content that is open for all?
That's fair enough, especially if it's the players first Class and they don't have any cross class skills.
It ultimately depends on the player. As I have said before, if you've mostly been running into bad players, then you're just an unlucky person... or I'm very lucky (excluding loot rolls).
I must say, I love the Aery, for the simple fact that its final boss includes what I'd say is the strictest healer and DPS check in the entire Leveling Roulette. If even one DPS is subpar, wipe. If the healer doesn't know how to handle their job, wipe. You can't get carried through that fight either.
And the greatest thing is that completing this dungeon is tied to progression, so if you can't get past the Aery, you're stuck there until you get your shit together and learn how to play properly.
I don't know why I'm being so optimistic about this when this thread contains thousands of horror stories from level 60 content, but whatever.
So whenever I run into newbie healers and DPS in there who can't play properly, completely ignore any and all advice I give them in favour of doing things that cause us to wipe over and over again, I just laugh and reassure myself that as long as they can't get past Nidhogg 1.0, there's absolutely no way they will ever show up to ruin my 60 content runs.
By the way, Kythe, if you're reading this, that last chat macro you tossed out in that run, before you jumped ship? That made me laugh like a banshee and it was the best thing ever after... everything that happened there.

By lvl up fast i wasn't referring to inside potd.
And most people are in such a rush in there they don't read tooltips.
Yeah it does depend on the player..
the issue is though. It makes it so easy to lvl up that there's too much to learn all at once at 60.
ya know how when you lvl up every day or 2 and get a new skill then you have a day or a week to use it and incorporate it before you lvl up again.
that doesn't happen.
I'm not saying potd is bad
im not saying all the players lvling in there are bad.
I'm just saying it makes it easier for those that aren't inclined to do research to get by.
if your in a dungeon with a blm that is struggling with their rotation it's easier to help them in a dungeon than in potd.
I grow tired of this have a good day sir ^_^

So I have a story again...
We're in World of Darkness. 3rd set of trash (the atomos I think it is, with the 3 platforms). We engage, all going well. Then I step on the platform and get launched out of the battle right as the gates lock so I can't go back in. Cardinal rule broke, 30 min penalty ensued.
White Mage ~ Sage ~ AstrologianBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
