This isn't about me bashing the game. Because I will still play. I was just explaining why it is very dangerous for SE to charge people yet again for an incomplete game. If 2.0 takes one foot out of line, or the following patches aren't up to standard, people will attack SE without mercy for damaging their trust even more. It's dangerous for them, and it's asking a lot from the players to invest in a product with poor market history.

I don't understand why everyone has to be so bitter on these forums/forget to take their meds before posting.

I recall ALOT of people saying that when Jobs comes out aka: 1.21 1.20= Groundwork. that they would Gladly start paying for the fee then, as then MOST of the people would enjoy the game @ 1.21 in its current state.

I remember that clear as day. While 1.21 is only a few months away, and there Charging at 1.20 ( which is close to being Launch worthy) so why not start now?

BUT, all of a sudden when 2.0 gets Realized.. it makes 1.0 a crappy game magically? the ONLY thing that's not getting put into the new world.. is the "ONE-TIME EVENTS" most of everything else will be in version 2.0. AND 2.0 Isn't a New game, and Yoshi-P has stated this Numerous of times! Its more like a.... Major Expansion that's Equivalent to 3 Expansions ( at least to me. 1.0 Current Storyline is being Altered to a point yes, to Accommodate the 7th Umbra Era. But all the Content ( IE: Dungeons/Strongholds/Primals/Guildleves ( to a point Yoshi-p said)) WILL be in VERSION 2.0.

The ONLY things that WILL be different are the Following:

- User Interface
- Graphics Engine
- New Servers
- New Client
- New Maps ( Due to the Destruction of the 6th Umbra Era)

Most of these Changes are " Technological" Related NOT the game itself.

So saying your paying for an " Incomplete Product" When you say 2.0 is the Full Version of the game is Idiotic

Sorry you feel that way, but I do not agree with you.
I have been enjoying this game so far and the promises shown in the past letters are enough for me to pay. Noone can force people to stick around, but I don't think you shoud post here telling us you don't want to play.

Just don't post, stop playing, life moves on. I doubt you will get much positive feedback from people like me that actually like FFXIV.

The OP can only post on his alt character and poke fun at the game, yet insists that he is still going to play. I just don't understand... either play or don't play.

You can still complain and play, but you make the game sound like its still the pile of garbage that it was at release and that's not the case in my opinion.

If you think the game is so terrible, then why are you still playing? Why are you making posts... there is nothing you can say that hasn't been said before, SE isn't going to read this and magically change their minds, no one is going to change their mind based on your opinion.

When you purchased FFXIV, you were NOT robbed, you were NOT mislead, and you are NOT owed ANYTHING.

You were not robbed because the act of purchasing a good or service is ONE HUNDRED PERCEPT OPTIONAL. Noone was forced to purchase the product FFXIV was offering.

You were not mislead because SE laid EVERYTHING out and open on the table. They had a closed alpha and beta and finally an open beta. If you had played EITHER, you would have already had a hands-on preview of the game.

You are not owed ANYTHING, because when you purchased the game it was on the expectation of the base FFXIV game which was essentially the open beta as it reached the release date and the updates every 2-3 months. This amounted to ~$50-$80 for the base game and $24-$36 for every version update. This was the stated expectation, and to expect anything else would be stupid. Being ignorant of this is not SE's fault, IT IS YOUR FAULT for purchasing something which you did not fully understand.

To put it briefly THE FACT THAT YOU BOUGHT AN INFERIOR PRODUCT EXPECTING IT TO BE SOMETHING SUPERIOR IS YOUR FAULT, NOT SE's.

That said, Square-Enix, as a company, wants FFXIV to be as successful as possible. They must compete with other MMOs in order to be successful. There is no denying FFXIV, at release, was (and for some arguably still is) an inferior product.

Because of this Square-Enix has improved FFXIV at a higher than expected rate. This premise alone would have justified charging us from DAY ONE. The only reason they haven't is because of competition and for future success of the game.
