Snip- when we got to the griffen, I got targeted by the fetters mechanic while the boss was at 21%. The ninja decided that this was the time to finish developing LB2 then LB2 the boss. Boss survives at 5%, I die, we wipe.

Oh this... I've had DPS leaving me for dead in the collar way more often than I'd like to remember. At least every third run.
The best one was a monk that wiped us... I think 2 or 3 times:
"Sorry I was just trying to get the clear before reset time."
"Yeah, killing the healer when the boss is at 50% (or so, can't remember) is very conducive to victory."
"I didn't kill you."
"Restraint collar begs to differ."

And the closest call was with a BLM, who even after saying "ok I'l free you next time" still just kept Fire IVing the boss, forcing the WAR to go Deliverance Berser and the other DPS to also pop cooldowns, just to free me with clearly less than a second left.

I'm traumatized!!

I've just ran A11N( Heart fo the Creator) and we wiped. Since we got full 2 bars of LB, me as bard did what? I LB of course at the beginning. Then people started ranting at me : "Why waste LB?? Save it for healers or melee!!". I was speechless and just asked what they meant with that? We wiped again..we voted abandon and they blamed me for bad attitude. o.O

UPDATE 2: Just got out of A12N. No tank LB at fase change. Everyone dropped. At least no one blamed the poor bard.

After a few failed runs of PotD without a healer, I finally go AST. Got into a group that had a CNJ. I was attempting to dps (although I dislike doing it on healing jobs), but stopped after a while because the "tank", who was actually a DPS, was jumping around and kiting, breaking my line of sight. After doing it for about 6 Floors, I dropped Cleric's and only focused on healing.

After a while, the CNJ asked me why I'm not attacking. I simply replied, "I'm just healing!". Next thing I know, I was kicked just before the boss Floor. I queued up about 5 minutes later, and the DRG that was in the group that kicked me was in this new group for the same Floors. He lol'd at the start, then waved to me, later saying they attempted to 3-man the boss and wiped, because the healer wasn't healing. Oh well!

You're so right. I see a lot of people talking about how toxic or quiet the community is. It's really refreshing to have these experiences. It reminds us that we're actually people behind our characters. Nice to see that I'm not the only one to experience this ^_^

My server, Malboro, has a Facebook page; two pages, actually. Matching the in-game characters to their real life players creates a bond.

Joined PoD on my AST, get in a party with WAR, DRK and another AST. 4 Floors in and the DRK drops out. New member joins while we progress.....it's another AST who wants to clear the final boss (having wiped several times previously).

In the Edda boss fight, The other 2 AST's dps with cleric stance on but forget to turn for cold feet, despite being told, and continually get hysteria buff. 1 AST with low level pool gear sucks at healing (even with buff) and I end up with low MP which is slowly restoring (I draw bole more than 2 times in a row.......). Me and the Tank manage to dodge the circle AOE....other 2 AST's are not so lucky and die....I res an AST and we manage to kill the boss.

On the way out the other AST, who doesn't need the floor clear, insults the party. She wanted to wipe in the end boss to repeat the floor....even though we agreed to help the other AST clear it.

I don't know where I find these people.

Levelling dps, got Amdapor Keep hard. The party was struggling a bit with mechanics, wipe on second boss. Tank (mentor) "noobs! Idiots!". My reply "nice mentor crown you have there". His reply "f*** off".

I certainly hope those guys got reported.

Some of the highest DPS I've ever ran with have been BLM, stuff died fast even when the other DPS is garbage. I've also had my share of garbage BLM too though. Even some bare minimum Ilvl BLM have had really impressive dps though. My main gripe with BLM is that even the good ones seem to die at least once an instance.

The only competition to BLM ive ran with thus far was a scholar and two summoners, all of whom were doing top notch dps and simply blowing things out of the water.

At top tier savage I'm sure it's different though.

Summoners and Scholars melt them.

FC mates and I queued for trials yesterday. I've been heckled by more than one FC mate for "always getting us into bad trials."

We got Bismarck Hard. Cue the groans. One of the tanks, a person with the returning player icon, dcs immediately while someone else triggers the event.

We almost had it...dps was good; three out of four dps players were me and my FC mates and we raid and know our rotations. So we break the chitin and I (on DRG) say "I'm gonna tank an add; X (healer) keep me up!" NIN FC mate says "not if I tank it first!"

Before the one tank gets aggro, X dies. Tank gets one add, Ninja buddy and I get the other add and we're trading aggro back and forth, but as the other healer is getting X up, my ninja FC mate dies. So I tank that green add, X keeps me alive, but it takes so long to get NIN FC mate up that our group dps is too low. We kill the green add, I lb2 the blue one, we wipe.

Offline tank is vote dismissed. I look at the other tank, who is unsynced 57 and was clearly doing his best. But once the tank is kicked people start dropping. So we hang around a bit but my guys leave and I drop, too. We give it a minute then queue again.

Annnnnnd it's Bismarck Hard with that same 57 tank.

This time we lose the other tank, he gets blown off by a lane aoe in final phase. We lose a healer. And it took three rounds of adds but we did clear for that poor DRK. Cheers, sir, even more epic fights await you!

NIN FC mate reminds me this is why he doesn't queue with me for trials.

I ended up in an Amdapor HM run which we absolutely demolished in like 15 minutes.

The kicker was that the tank had 4k less HP than I did as a Bard, and I didn't even notice until the very end when I obviously ripped aggro off of the Paladin even with quelling for like 20 seconds.

I'm surprised he actually regained aggro (or well, kept aggro on everything beforehand) considering there was an Astrologian feeding me the entire time on top of that, bless their hearts.

I like to think that pally can put out a lot of eminity/aggro

Being undergeared doesnt't seem plausible in this story considering that most dps would have around 5-6k hp in lv 50 synched contents, and 4k less hp than a bard would make the tank running with lv 30-40 gears with 1-2k hp to boast.. or naked 50 even.

I believe what happened was that the tank's gears went broken at the end of the run when he lost aggro and managed to spam aggro combo like mad.

For a split second, I took hate at the worst possible moment from the tank on the final boss of Sohm Al (Hard)


I only have around 20k+ HP. My HP was deleted.

I already used Quelling Strikes for my opener and I only took hate because the tank turned Grit off. I don't mind a tank dealing decent damage, but... well, if a DPS dies, then damage dealt overall is gonna go down and that DPS is going to judge you fiercely.
