    It's not about the money

I personally will still play regardless, but out of principle, I don't want to. Nobody wants to pay for stuff they could get for free, but nobody should have paid for this in the first place, right?

We were already asked to invest in this game once before, now we are being asked to invest in it again, not even knowing what the future holds for those that do. Sure we have a vague roadmap (which is a few pages long and left mostly up to imagination to fill in the gaps) but who is to say any of this will even make it to release for Version 2.0? Won't we be played for fools if V2.0 doesnt live up to the hype/expectation? SE doesn't have a good record with keeping their promises.

We've been fooled once, now we are meant not only to invest our money again, but also our bruised trust that they won't repeat the failure.

We are asked to pay now, but the game may not even pay off in the long run. What I am trying to say is that it might not be a wise return on our investment. Some people say we will be getting a lot of stuff inbetween now and October next year, but many people have been playing (and many not) a broken game for the past year. Now that it is approaching some semblage of playability, players are supposed to forget that they still havent played a good game yet, despite the promise that they were getting one when they bought it.

If anything, the developers probably owe everyone a Version 2.0, and until they can give that to players, they probably shouldn't get player's money. We were already fooled once. Does SE really want to risk the aftermath of fooling everyone twice?

-We didn't " Invest" in the game before
-We payed for the box for the game for our enjoyment
-Paying for something that they are currently working on and reaching that end goal an Investment
-This is also Yoshi-P that has kept all of his promises thus far
-Don't you think we can trust him? or is Fulfillments not good enough?

    Bro you srs?

Few pages long? Left mostly to the imagination?

    Wott....

Yoshi is going to make or break his career with FFXIV, he hasn't broken any promises yet.

The road plan is actually pretty detailed, what do you want? Exact details for every patch to the utmost minute factor they are changing?

Like post on your main or stop trolling..

You knew the game would have a sub at some point. You were given some time to play for free because the devs thought the game wasn't up to snuff. Now they say it's ready for subs. Deal with it or leave. Those are your two options.

Can we quit making these threads already?

I'm so sick of these posts. These are the same people that complain in real-life about being overcharged for 1 cent because of the "principal" of it all. These people live to complain—I can't imagine being that miserable.

This is a very good point. Not only were we fooled, we were knocked the f out and had our wallets stolen.

I'd also like to point out that once this game goes pay 100% to play, it will be up for reviewer scrutany allll over again. Think it's not cool for "i've played it for 10 minutes so I can write a credible review" critics to bash on FFXIV? The short answer is no. Maybe SE is going for an all time low MMORPG score on metacitric?

EDIT: Let these troll adhominem attack your thread. Let these trolls play the symantics game with you. Let these trolls think that just because there are more of them spewing the same verbal dhiarea that makes their point more valid.

Don't play into their games, I already had one two of these trolls on ignore list before I even came into this thread.

Lol at this rate I'm going to have half the users on this forum ignored. But that's ok they all say the exact same thing over and over and over and over.

    How about this:

Don't want to pay and feel "fooled"? Don't pay, don't post on the forums and don't continue to play for free while it's still free. Maybe it's just me, but generally when you can't trust a company you don't deal with them, you don't stick around and continue to say how much you distrust them and refuse to pay.

    So as for this:

Don't play into their games, I already had one two of these trolls on ignore list before I even came into this thread.
Isn't basically saying "I won't pay to play their game, but I'll keep posting and be constantly negative and mocking to users who will" the same as trolling?

    I fear changes.

    I hate changes.

I hate to have to adapt. Why do I need to struggle so much to adapt back into the game after each of the big patches?

Yet, the changes they've made to FFXIV so far haven't disappointed me. There might be some flaws and some bugs, but they seem to be working on it fine. So now though a bit shaky in fear of the big changes yet to come, I can't help getting excited to soon see what's in the store for us, or for me.

I play, and I will pay, for my entertainment, because I enjoy playing. I don't play to expect to get something, I play because I like it.

And yeah you're right, it's not about the money. After all, people choose to play and keep playing only games that they like or can enjoy at least one aspect of it.
