Already covered this: because turning something in isn't restricted by class... you aren't the only person who wants to use it for turn-in purposes. By rolling need for seals/desynth, you are asserting that your want takes priority over other people's for an arbitrary reason that doesn't actually apply to what you want to use it for.

I use it mainly for CS for items to craft relics for one. Some items are needed and can only be obtain by company seals. I tried looking for your profile on loadstone, didn't see it by the way, and notice most people who are complaining either don't craft or even bother with relics. I personally see it as a need. If someone really needs something I will be more than courteous to them. As an expectation however don't think so. Here is a simple example. If like to farm tomes and gear for CS. I go as a tank because I like to have control over speed runs. If I want to make 20k in seals how many runs do you think I would need to do if I use greed vs need? It's simple a lot more. What if one run nothing but healer drops happen ? If healer already has item on inventory they won't be able to get it. Hence pass is only option. The system is fair, people who don't communicate complain. I also craft does that I mean I should only greed and keep doing runs until RNG sees it fit? Not likely. If I need it, regardless the reason, it would be up to me. Now if your farming gear for an upcoming job you plan on leveling later on...well what can I tell you start playing that role or craft.I try to farm 80k in CS in min 2 days how much time would you spend farming seals otherwise? Most won't even bother and is all based on dedication and what they want to accomplish.

Yes. Because that is what is fair to everyone. We all deal with the same RNG. YOUR want for seals or whatever is not more important than other party members who also want stuff for seals/desynth/etc. Stop being selfish.

If I'm the tank and I need on something for seals, then the DPS or healer can do the same if their gear drops. Nothing unfair or selfish about it.

Same thing if nothing for tank drops. Like it or not, it's completely fair and equal. Assuming there is an equal chance for all different gear types to drop, then everyone has an equally fair chance of getting something.

Did run earlier where 90% of the drops were "of Aiming", both boss drops and chests around the dungeon map.

That's just the luck of the draw at that point if every single drop of a dungeon is tank gear.

If you really want greed only, preform and set that rule, it's an option.

FAIR WARNING; this is not meant to insult anyone nor to belittle anyone on how they play the game, however the truth must be told. AGAIN with a break down.

Let's face it there are two types of players. Those who KNOW and understand what the purpose of NEED is, based on common sense, and those who feel and fail to understand that ALL roles have access to NEED.

What we players, who understand that all roles have access, understand that communication is the key, and hard work pays off, NEED you other players to understand is the following;

We NEED you to understand that we all pay membership fees. Your no different nor more important than anyone else. If in real life your told that, wake up, they are being nice to you.
We NEED you to understand that all roles have the same function and if RNG is not on your side we NEED you to understand that is how life is.
We NEED you to understand that we work hard to get were we are, put in the time, and choose the fastest way to reach our individual goals.
We NEED you to understand that we are not made of stone and help those who NEED something, they NEED to speak up if they NEED a piece of gear.

With that being said lets face reality;

Hard work pays off, there is a lot of better gear out there. FARM Tomes, RAISE a TANK JOB if you feel they get priority or play that actual role. Here is a very good idea as well, ASK FOR HELP. If you have an FC, Friends, and such who can craft ASK. Chances are they will ask you for the materials for the item. NO ONE will do it just because unless your very close to them, or some other unknown reason. People ask me for help I either tank for them, or craft for them. I don't charge for my services just ask for materials or as a MENTOR educate various ways to reach their goals. THEY STILL NEED TO PUT IN THE EFFORT. What we choose to do with the gear is with in our own needs and have ZERO connection to your own needs. Please stop with the cup cake generation syndrome and face reality. COMMUNICATE, PLAY THE ROLE, or CREATE YOUR OWN GROUP WITH LOOT RULES. They are there for a reason.
