Why you love playing healer

It is very easy to gauge the skill of other players as healer without question.

As awesome as this is, I haven't got frustrated with the tanks and DPS in this game to the point that I would even consider veering from healer.

Ultimately though, it is one of the greatest things about being a healer. In a skilled group, you make things convenient, and efficient for not only the other members of your group, but for yourself as well if you are seeking a quick clear as we often are.

This is just everything I think as well. I love your posts. I dont get annoyed with how anyone plays either if tanks hold aggro or whatever I just still try to keep them alive, and the dps thats getting aggro, just see it as a bit of a challenge. And feel ok that we still did it

Thank you! It's odd how I don't get annoyed with player derps, but will burn down my own house when RNGesus decides to be a jerk when I'm crafting xD

But yeah, I like the challenge and the power to be able to erase the mistakes of my comrades. I've tried DPS and tanking, but none of them give me the same feeling of control over the entire instance as healer. Constantly walking a tightrope and one little mistake can cost the party. It's a great role for masochists like myself.

I really only get annoyed with lack of courtesy towards other players. Not so much bad game play. I can heal that all day without a fuss. It's like you said, they could be having an off day. They could've been out of combat for a while and are rusty. Perhaps they really are not just that good. Either way, it's pretty easy to identify bad play from poor etiquette. And the latter I have a little bit of trouble keeping up the heals. So to speak ;P

I´ve been playing healers as long as I´ve been playing games. Simply because i like to make life easier for others. Real life and ingame. I do dps as well and recently started leveling a tank ( which feels alot like hard work and less fun)... Playing healer is like art - everything changes depending on your group combo - i love the challenge : Ops tank is losing aggro ? - here throw a holy/celestial opposition for him to get it back. Dps being too slow on evading ? - throw a tetra/bene their way. Trying to time the regen so it runs out before the next pull....Seeing deployment tactics extend over the whole team or throwing a fey caress at the right time. Feels god man

i have played a healer in every MMO i have played and i love it so far WHM seeming to be the one i like the most so far ok at SCH and cant wait to try AST. Pretty much what Moonfox said is why i like healing =D

I like to be more observant of how the party plays than simply focusing on burning the mobs down.
I find it a challenge to understand the dynamics of my party, when to step up or maybe just chill and add to DPS because my fairy can do the rest etc. dancing back and forth on CS is one of the best lessons I've learned from an FC mate.
I especially love not having a downtime as an AST because I make sure to equip the best card while the party's on the move to the next mob.
overall, I favor mage/cleric types since I started playing MMOs in 2002, I still don't have a melee class in this game but I'm working on it

I play DPS and Heals near equally (same in SWTOR) NEVER tank. I just simply think healing is fun in group content, I can't really explain why I enjoy it. Maybe it's just that I have gotten so used to it in other MMO(s). Faster queue times also help. Hate healing in solo content, just takes too long.

Thou FF14 is my 1st game I used a "Full" healer class (was a Sub-healer with a bow in WKC2 on PS3) I do like it even thou I do get annoyed when ppl derp to much, even myself, not that I won't healer them just if their a DPS their probably last on my priority list anyway. WHM has be my heal class since 2.4 thou I am likeing AST as it gives me a way to help with deeps without actually doing it myself (DMG buff cards) which I actually find more fun then using Cleric Stance & allows me to focus on the core of the job... thou ant lv60 yet in AST, just 2 more days... then the true "learning" begins

I remember when I first started playing FFXIV I never had an interest in healing.When I was new to syrcus tower and that labyrinth raid.It looked overwhelming to me.and I thought to myself.How the hell are they doing that xDD and thank god I am not a healer!

Than something interesting happened.I decided to try whm when I lvled blm and smn to 50 when I started doing low level dungeons.I got such a rush.I got an even bigger rush doing raids/trials/extreme and so forth. THAN I lvled sch to 50 I remember eos was always on sic.I did not know about micromanaging when I was new.Now I am a damn pro xD sch was hella fun..So basically I got hooked on healing.I qeued as dps.But mostly go as a healer.Than when heavensward came out I lvled ast straight away.

And surprise! healer is my main role now xD.
