    Yes i am.
    • Because they picked the most logical class (Samurai) for being a tank and put in the dps slot
    • Because for the next 2 years i'm stuck playing the same class that i've played until now
    • because the revamp it's basically a russian roulette where warrior, dark, ast and scholar have a lot to lose and only paladin and whm need a lot of love and considering the previous iteration of rebalancing a class (bard) i'm far from hopefull

Would that have made people happy? Especially if these alternate specs were blatant copies of Warrior and Scholar? Like, literally, the exact same abilities with a different coat of paint? Magicked Crystal Medium working like a Faerie? Would people have been happy, or pissed?
Personally, I hope they never do this for any jobs in this game. One thing I like about FFXIV, that maybe other people don't, is that the roles are clearly defined for each class. I think this helps to eliminate confusion right from the start, especially with new players. The Old Republic was sort of like what you're asking for. You could build tank classes into dps classes and healers into dps, but what you wound up with were classes that could play one role well, and then half-ass another. I'll admit, I was new to MMOs and I qued into a dungeon as a dps with a character who was specced as a tank. And I had no idea I was doing anything wrong until my teammates finally chimed in and guided me along. Since then, I've always appreciated that XIV has clearly defined roles. If they were to deviate into a skill tree type system, I wouldn't be upset, but I would definitely be wary of it. Especially in DF when you have no way of knowing if you're running with a tank, or an edge lord DRK who thinks they're a dps lol

I don't play "tank", I play Dark Knight which just happens to tank. Red Mage was, from the very start, the #1 job I've been waiting for with Dark Knight being #2.

Don't forget the "I don't tank" Jedi Guardian players.

Yeah, I am disappointed. I don't really like dps with a few exceptions. xD At least astrologian still feels relatively new for me, but I was really hoping to see a new healer. Would have liked dancer. I'd also take a healer that's designed in the vein of Chloromancer from Rift.

SE's excuse for not adding a new tank or heal class really didn't make much sense to me. Just because people don't tend to change their role doesn't mean you stop giving them new flavors of things. I'm also not particularly optimistic about the "rebalancing", as from what they've said it sounds mostly geared toward adjusting dps rotations and cross-class abilities.

Disappointed that there's no Dancer Healer class, was so looking forward to that.
Don't tank so don't care about lack of a new tank class.
I'll just hope WHM/MNK/PLD get the necessary buffs they need without throwing any other class under the bus in the process.

Yeah about the reasoning they gave, I don't buy it.

If the goal of adding new jobs is to bring players into that job, then why were they surprised to find that adding one of every role didn't change the role distribution? Wouldn't they just add one Tank and one Healer as the new jobs if they were trying to help goad people into trying tanks and healers? Even if it wasn't their goal, the fact that those populations didn't increase is a self-fulfilling prophecy since they added a DPS too. Wouldn't adding two DPS jobs just make the distribution more lopsided since that could potentially siphon people way from playing tanks and healers? It's just weird circular logic that doesn't really make any sense.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for re-balancing the tanks and healers and trying to make the jobs we have work, but like I said earlier without a fundamental ground-up redesign it's just not going to happen anyway so I don't get it.

Keep instant cast concept and shield from nocturnal stance, make its shield act like a HoT which will be turn into SoT. It need a dps cycle more interesting.
Why do you hold so much anger against AST? Don't kill the Job.

Hey, the Guardian/Jugg dps specs were actually pretty damn strong and still are last I heard. :P

Of course I don't care, haha. I think a lot of the fundamentals of tanking and healing are hopelessly broken in this game and I would rather wait out an expansion on the SLIGHT chance that the devs actually do something meaningful about it instead of let them play panem et circes with me with a new shiny healer job that is just as depressingly homogeneous as the other three we have.

That said, I also play quite a lot of other MMOs where not only do they not add new classes with every expansion, it may take them YEARS to add even one that just winds up being a DPS in the end (TERA...), so I've learned to enjoy classes for what they are and how they can improve, not how new and shiny and FotM they are.
