In my opinion the most fair way would be like, you go to the plot you want, the same size of current house and buy it, then its offered the way to transfer, which i think the best way would be giving people all itens in the house back.
Yes you have to buy another plot, and i undestand that it was stated that you shouldnt have to pay again because you got earlier in the game, but for example i started in 3.0 and lost all the cool stuff from 2.0 , in the end its new content, and veterans enjoyed the old one( in this case your house).
Me and my bf are waiting 4 demolish now and going to upgrade to a big house, i will lose some things (my moogle letterbox T.T) but its fine, i understand that will be for a good reason.

Exactly. My FC and I are still in the process of saving up 50mill as a backup, but I'd prefer not having to pay that much for a transfer.

The way I see it, the "moving system" will merely allow us to move between plots, surely of the same size but may also allow us to upgrade to a bigger one!...

When it comes to costs, I'm pretty sure the "moving system" will not save us a single gil and we will have to pay full price for the plot we wish to move onto, so for all of those thinking it would be advantageous just forget it, unless we get a discount for the new plot if moving to a larger one!...

The reason why the "moving system" might not allow us to upgrade to a bigger plot is that furniture inside the cottage/house and the garden would end up misplaced, though I hope they can figure out a solution otherwise it would just make it harder on the Eorzeans wanting to migrate!...

I am almost certain they will ask you to either remove all furniture before moving - or they will automatically dump all furniture on the NPC and you will have to re-furnish it (just like what happens to personal rooms if you are kicked from an FC for example).

Reason for this is the houses cross-area are different. Use Large houses as an example - in Lavender Beds there is a "platform" on the upper level that acts as a tabletop where you can place items on - the Mist version of this is simply a hole in the wall and does not act as a tabletop. So they can't feasibly place furnishings in the exact same spot in the same sized house if it's cross-region - as the houses are just different - even if they are the same size..

Not to mention yard alignments are quite different.. Some have the gate straight on from the door, others from the side etc etc.

There are quirks to each housing zone, and even simple things such as the way the stairs meet the ground floor have extra mouldings to them that the other zone doesn't.

The only way to move will certainly require the removal of all furnishings in some way or another (manually or automatic).

And we aren't asking for special privelages - simply the same privelage that those who haven't bought one yet have.

I know I'm dreaming but can we, at least, be sure GMs will investigate and take actions against the "real estate" players ?
Cause I'm getting tired to report players buying to re-seel a few minutes later and being told by a GM "I can't do anything because the guy told me he did not buy the house to resell it"

Yeah, like he would admit to a GM he did something reportable....

I feel moving if it includes upgrades should have us pay the difference, not full price.

You already have it. If you have the money, you can buy a home. If you don't, you can't.

And I'll add to that :
If you have a day off on patch day, you can buy à home, if you have to go to work, you can't.
Remember that all the houses were taken in less than 5min on certain servers last time, most of the player still being in queue

Some GMs are more strict then other and other are more lax, but either way was there any type of proof for the GM to look for? Such as PF entry, shout or anything of them saying they were selling the house? Cause that really the only way they will do something about it.
