Why would you assume it all boils down to responsibility? I absolutely abhor healing and even though I have been known to tank on occasion, I don't particularly enjoy it. I do enjoy trying to output the highest dps i can, I find that fun because not only am I competing against other good dps players, I also continuosly competing against myself. Sure you can do that as a tank/healer but that is not your primary focus.

Even when I said at the beginning of a dungeon I didn't do that, people still got pissed about it. They would pull themselves or just flat out leave. So I stopped tanking cause I'm not putting up with the stress and bull. *shrugs* But that's just me.
Had the same thing happen when I tanked, than I switched to a "you pull on purpose you tank" policy, got better
And when I'm "forced" to DPS as a healer, I go on a "ok I'm DPS" policy and let the tank die, got better too

Of course, because playing well is optional here. Welcome to the XIV culture of "I play like crap because you don't pay my sub."

You must be so proud for contributing to it.

Not at all, I did not say I don't DPS or stance dance, I do it all the time by myself don't worry about that.
I just have that attitude with a**hole that do not even let me the time to buff everyone and "require" (almost ordering me) to DPS. Not acting like a "I play like crap because you don't pay my sub", just remembering d**head that they do not have to "order" me to do my job *

*Edit : Especially if they did not say hello before

I like DRK, I got the thing to 60 after all. That said, I rarely play it due to I don't feel like playing social Russian roulette with my roulettes. I have enough social cancer to deal with IRL to be bothered by people screaming like howler monkeys in an instance b/c my pull isn't to their epicurian standards.

The same reason people dont even attempt to do the hardest content in the game, its a mix of how the players make you feel for not being good, and a mix of ur own self doubts I have many friends like this that just craft and do duty roulletes. Which Im finding is a majority of the games population, dpsing is just so much easier in this game than tanking you hardly ever here dps gettin called out as you do healers or tanks.

I personally love tanking, but I hate when people constantly go "pull bigger" "pull faster" I don't get yelled at for my dps output, im pretty good about stance hopping on pld n using the goreblade, royal authority combos between aggro. But if 1 dps is being a brat, I brush it off. if both dps are being a brat. Ill rip off all my gear n say get your own tank. What you gonna do kick me!? you already waited 30+ mins to get in here. Way to be a pack of jerks.

Tanking is way easier than playing dps. Holding aggro is not hard at all. Tanking just has more responsibility to the group.

The only thing Id say that would make dps harder than tanking is that you have a higher probability of dying because your much more squishy than a tank. But the responsibility makes tanks way harder, not in a dungeon I mean stuff happens in dungeons but overall they really arent that big of a deal, but in trials tanks factor in way more than a dps, positioning cool down management, the pressure of 7 or in or the 24 mans having 23 other people getting on you case really matters. Even tho they are easy it takes a bit of confidence to step up in dun scathe and tank , because if you screw up you got 23 other people that are gona be talking trash. Dps can die multipule times and it may annoy people but they are disposable in alot of content thats why they get aoe heals and not priority heals.
