    Just been thinking let's talk about it

    Dear Tanks and FF14 community,

    I was thinking about tanking for well I love tank in general can't bored. Before i ramble on let me ask you guys, what do you guys think of ability for Paladin that is off GCD. That each successful block the Paladin get healed. I am bad with math but let's say 35% of the damage dealt from the shield will heal the user. It will be awesome for multi-hit tank buster and also Massive pulls.

    I got that idea from playing "For Honor" by playing character named Conqueror. What do you guys think about this ability?

    it's great in big Add pools i think...
    i don't really know Pala, but... he can only block physical attacks as far as i know?

    so keep that in Mind, than, it is a strong tool i'd say.
    a little bit similar to Bloodbath from WAR. But with DMG inc rather then DMG dealt.

    Actually, it sounds like my favourite combo of bloodbath and vengeance.

    I'd still like it if Paladin had a good long range threat ability, like equilibrium or dark passenger. Provoke doesn't do anything against a medica, and shield throw is a weaponskill.

    You can use clemency, it gives quite a bit of hate, altho the cast is a bit long so you'd have to know when to start casting.

    As for the shieldthing, it sounds interesting, but other than on large thrashpacks, I don't know how useful it would really be, as the amount you would get healed is rather small, and the healers would still need to heal you the same amount anyways.

    What I'd rather see is something, either passive (as part of a stance perhaps) or a cooldown, that causes damage to the attacker as we block. Maybe something along holy energies sparking of the shield when it gets hit or such?^^

    It could work pretty well as a self-sustain against a boss's auto-attacks and cleaves that have no cast bar, specially coupled with Blood Bath. Healers' regens + fairy usually take care of this, but if a PLD could completely sustain themselves for 20-30 secs through phases of moderate damage without spikes, and without sacrificing other defensive CDs or forcing the healers to heal for a good chunk of time.

    All in all, it would be a pretty good addition, though not necessarily game changing, methinks.

    Depending on how you word it, it's simply a 35% or 70% mitigation skill that uniquely does not increase your resistance to being one-shot. I don't see the attraction.

    The idea I like but reduce it to 10% damage heal as 35% of the damage is quite high.
